Besides REAL women have curves and know what to do with em , not everyone wants to look like a damned stick insect. I think it seems very unattractive and somewhat unhealthy.

This.

Never had it to my face, it's the off-hand casual comments that get to me. I'm one of those stick insects who can't gain weight no matter what I eat. A constant barage of 'no one wants to see a skeleton', 'they look anorexic', 'I can see her ribs, that's just disgusting' really gets to you after a while.

So true. I'm very skinny, but that was due to eating problems (I didn't have a disorder, but my habits were quite bad). Although I eat better now, I do get sad at how 10 years of my life was focused on eating poorly.
But what if I, and many other skinny people DID have anorexia or bulimia. It's not something to joke about.
Being skinny isn't all that attractive, but I don't look sickly skinny. Just thin. After eating well for the past two years, any protruding bones are now covered. Except my wrists, they're... eww. But not much I can do about it.

If someone told me to "Go eat some pasta or a hamburger", I fucking will do. And you better be watching.

If there was such a thing called reverse liposuction, I'd gladly be the first to get it on the NHS

I 100% agree. I am also one of these skinny people who can't seem to put on weight and I was bullied because of it in secondary school. I am really self-concious of it (particually my arms) and if your said operation existed, I'd also want to put on it ^^;

Oh god... That gave me a really foul thought...

Literally, sucking the fat from one, then injecting it into the next...

*shudders*

Operations make me feel queasy...

Hmmm... All this talk of skinny people getting reverse liposuction.

Would you...? I mean I am pretty slim myself. (I was VERY skinny in highschool.) But, I dunno... If I'm honest though I dunno if I can speak too much because I am fairly well toned. (I look really weird when I tense up my arms, and I have kung fu wrists. XD)

And yeah, you get some people who call you a stick insect, but to be honest there's nothing wrong with being a little skinny. It's the same as being a little overweight, as long as it doesn't BECOME something serious, I'd say stick with it! Some people like people with curves, some people like slim people, right?

Haha, I was joking about the surgery, the thought of going through something like that terrifies me!

I am happy about what I've achieved and flaunt it off, but it does get you down when people assume you don't eat. My god, they really should see the amount I eat.

I blame the high metabolism. I can just be an outright couch potato and still burn calories quickly >.>

Sorry didn't mean for it to sound offensive. It's just I hear more of the "omg you're too fat at a size 12 or 14, you can't even think of wearing that! You should go on a diet so you can look like a catwalk model before you even think of trying that ect ect" Guess that's what I get for living in chav central =3= ugh so much negativty in the world these days, it's depressing!

Personally I've nothing against slim people (in fact my sister is one of those people who can eat loads and loads and never put on weight being a constantly small size. And me ma is more built for comfort not for speed) So I can really see both sides of the spectrum.

I'm just very much against the media and general population idolising a certain body type when real women come in all shapes and sizes, curvy, slim, lumpy, bumpy you name it! So I guess my earlier comment did come out sounding kinda harsh for those on the other side of the scales.

We should be proud of our bodies and our talents as cosplayers no matter what! Cause we're out that making fantastic outfits that we look AWESOME in no matter what our shape ^w^
