"our Anime characters based on our own Asians facial & body form"? Really?
So, uh, Japan really has 194cm 14-year-olds? And is plentiful of large-brested skinny women?

Well, you learn something new every day.
Made me lol though, racist for dressing up as a fictional character... that's definately a new one to me~ xD

Ha. Hahaha. This guy. Just, this. I can't believe how rediculous this is, thanks for the lols. I wasn't aware of this site, but its humorous to say the least.

I agree somewhat, but that is ONLY with the western cosplayers that don't put effort into their costuming, which is, safe to say, a minority. All the rest are just as capable of cosplaying as Asians.

I don't understand what he's talking about with the faces being based on asian facial structure. I mean, in Evagelion I personally can't distinguish alot of difference between Rei and Asuka and one of them is meant to be Japanese and one German. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Germany a western country? I which case were the series animators racist because the didn't distinguish Asuka's face enough from the other characters?

I think I'm just saying in another way what everybody else is saying... this guys just wrong.

I'm guessing video games are all good then since he never mentioned that =3

firstly with cosplay becoming more and more popular, are we inevitably going to attract more weirdos? Also I have heard cosplaying in Japan is quite different to Europe/America.

Well, weirdos are often much cooler than normal people, so nothing wrong with that.
If you mean 'attract weirdos' as in 'attract hate comments from weirdos', then there's not much we can do bar look more awesome than then.

Quote Han Hyuga:
Are there Japanese people who think we don't cosplay properly, for instance?

Well, I'm sure there are plenty of gamers out there who don't think I game correctly, or plenty of authors who would say I didn't write correctly.
It's not hurting anyone, is it?
If your heart's in it and you're having fun, no prob Bob.
Hmmm, very true. To both of your replies. Guess at the end of the day it's gonna turn into any other hobby. Some people are gonna take it too seriously... The vast majority, though ar just gonna laugh at this guy. XD

But there are plently of anime that clearly had Westeners/Western styled settings. Like...Katekyo Hitman Reborn (most characters are of Italian decenace), Hetalia, Code Geass, Scrapped Princess, Fullmetal Alchemist just to name a few.

I thought that about Kuroshitsuji as well, seeing that it's mostly based around London XD With the exception of Lau and Ranmao (and any other characters I may be forgetting).

Agni and Soma too. They're Indian. But that's pretty much it. It's set in Britain. (and is it round London? I known Ciel has a London manor, but I thought his main house was in the country).

Hello, ladies, look at your troll. Now back to me, now back at to that troll, now back to me. Sadly he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an idiot he could see that even brown'd up asians couldn't cosplay like me.

Look down, back up. Where are you? You are on a forum, with an Ishabalan your Troll couldn't cosplay like. What’s that in your hand, back at me, I have it, it’s an plate of curry from the Agni cosplay you love, now look again, the curry is now the Hand of God.

Niché cosplays are possible when you're actually an Indian. I'm on a red convertable.

The irony here is the amount of racism he's stirring himself.

Needless to say that stereotyping and categorising various races into various spectrums was something i think we saw in the 1940's. Great to see a guy doing this in teh 21st century- makes you feel warm and fuzzy!

You never know there may even be a war! Plastazote and wonderflex props at the ready! But do make sure they're con safe please!

In any case small minded individuals are a sad factor that a community such as ours HAVE to have in order to provide balance. In the end he is paying us an undue credit by acknowledging our developing scene not only here but more predominantly i think the states (at least what he is focusing on).

So kids i see this as a way of saying 'hats off to you you western racist cosplayers- keep getting better with every vein that pops on my head!'

Glad I could, Han Hyuga :3

Pez, awesome. I'll get the next one in. (I'll be at manchester expo/nema/london expo/fushi take your pic)~~~~

Anyway, what I was trying to say in case some of you didn't get that joke, was that I am one of the cosplayers who use ethnic background as a strength.

I would laugh myself stupid if I saw someone from the orient cosplay Afro Samurai, Simon from DRRR or Garterbelt.

I mean, seriously. Come onnnnnnnnn. You can't just make it ASIAN ONLY, you'll cut out a hell of a lot of characters.

A lot of that flew over my head, but what I did understand made me laugh.

And yes, it would look rather silly. There is a clear difference in appearance.

However, I want to cosplay Agni and/or Soma... But I'm aware how much of an idiot I'd look myself lol

I'm sure there was an experiment on Brainiac which proved that you were more likely to get a date/ person's number if you were randomly dressed up (like as a bunny, for example) than if you dressed normally.
Weirdoes are awesome.

Hey guys, while drifiting through 'tintnernet, someone gave me a wesbite which was somewhat... Shocking... And laughable.

www.antiwc.net/

Some of you may have seen/heard of the site already. Now I don't really want this to turn into a "Should westerners be allowed to cosplay?" or "Can cosplaying be disrespectful?" Because we all know what the answers to those two questions would be.

I'm thinking more of... "How f*$@ing unglued must this guy be?" and "Have you ever had an experience of elitist cosplayers etc.?" or maybe the slightly more serious "Do you think we'll see more of these nutjobs in the future?"

I'm wanting just general discussion more than anything else.

(Oh yes, in those forums, I have a PRETTY strong hunch all the accounts are owned by the same person.)

OMG It's that guy from cosplay.com XD he actually made a website XD Wow that made my day.

This is hilariously funny and at the same time really sad. Unfortunately he's not the only individual with such crazy ideals.
We have a cosplay troll in Germany who condemns every crossplayer. He thinks that MEN are holy, to greatest creation on earth and that no woman shall ever try to cosplay a man because that's just gross and unnatural and desecrates masculinity.
That first sounds like some horrible joke but he also has a website which is currently offline where he openly denounces girls who cosplay and ever dared to oppose him.

It may start like some sick joke and people laugh but I must confess that I have a bad feeling about all these madmen that seem to pop out of nowhere. I don't want to be stabbed or shot down on a convention by some maniac who thinks he's better than anybody else :/

Yeah I'm pretty sure this is Proud Asian's site. Pay no attention to it.

Honestly, you'd get more sense out of a brick than you'll ever get out of him.
