Dark Cloud cosplay (or general cat ear making help)
Hey, I'm new here but have done a couple of cosplays before. I'm hoping to cosplay Xiao from Dark Cloud- it's quite an old game so I'm not sure how many people will remember it. Anyways, here's a reference pic from Deviant Art...
I'm not sure how to go about with the ears because they're not really standard cat ears... more like bunny or lynxy ears. I'm thinking of cutting two sides from some material, putting some stuffing in and then sewing them together then onto a headband. My main concern is whether they would stand up like this, or if I should make an outline for the ears out of wire then attack the material. In fact this probably includes how I'd go about making the tail as it's supposed to stick up in the air.
Any advice would be much appreciated :3

I'd use something a bit rigid in the ears to make sure they don't sag. Make the back out of say hard carboard, or plastic from a milk bottle, build up the shape wuth funky foam or lighter card, adn the cover with fabrc. You could alos try running a piece of invisible thread from the top of the headband to the tip of the ear, which should stop them drooping.

I'd probably use a similar trick with the tail - make it and attach it in the right place, and then use a small piece of invisible thread between the tail and the dress at a couple of points.

Thanks very much! Fortunately I have like a year to get it right! By the way I recognise your Sora lion cosplay from Amecon- it's brilliant!

Aw, thankyou kindly

Let me know how you get on. You should look adorable when it's finished.

Also try backing the flesh-coloured part of the ear with some iron-on interfacing. It'll help prevent the fabric from sagging, which can happen even if you're using backing card. I used to make cat ears to sell and found this very useful.
