A game of Thrones *may contain spoilers*
Anyone been watching this? I think it's great!

I was just about to start reading the books and then saw a tweet from Felicia Day about the series about to start up so I took the lazy way out

For anyone who hasn't started watching it I highly recommend it if you're a fan of Fantasy, it's a (I'd say pretty adult, so not for kids) live action series based on "author George R. R. Martin's best-selling A Song of Ice and Fire series of seven planned fantasy novels" and its shown on Sky Atlantic.

I thought I'd mention that it may contain spoilers from the latest TV episodes but please don't post any spoilers from the books unless it's something missed out that's happened in the series or I'll hate you forever

I am loving this show! Pretty gruesome in places but the characters are so gripping. I hear they've planned to film the second book too, but I don't know if it's confirmed yet.

I've started reading the books, but I haven't caught up to the TV yet.

lots of nudity and violence, what more can you ask for? Dragons? Well ok throw some talk of dragons in there too. Dwarves? Yeah, there ya go! A wall? Yeah, the biggest wall we could make.

Tyrion Lannister cracks me up.

Yeah I'm not sure if I want to start reading the books or not, not wanting to spoil the series.

Is it only just the first book that the series follows so far?

Oh and I wish I had a dire wolf...or maybe not

Love it. Have the book but am holding off reading it til the series is over with and I have to wait until the next one.

May have pranced about my house in some fake fur declaring I am the LORD OF WINTERFELL >.>

Cosplay plans have already been made. Oooh yeah.

The reason I thought I'd post this on here was because I saw someone's Boromir (Sean Bean from LOTR) and I thought it was a Game of Thrones cosplay!!

I am absolutely loving the series, has rebooted my love of fantasy that has dwindled over recent years.

I'm planning to start reading the books once the first season is over!

Also, I fully intend to cosplay Viserys Targaryen by the end of the year no matter what, because I love him in the FACE!

I've made sure I haven't missed an episode so far, as the series is amazing.

The opening credits alone with the uniquely styled world completely takes my breath away.

I described it at work as LOTRs but with sex & violence. They became intrigued, hehe.

I've been a fan of the books for some years and was all fsdhkjflasfhsdal when they decided to make the TV series. So far the show hasn't disappointed.

I'm a Tyrion and Jamie Lannister fangirl (I know, I know, but Jamie gets better later). Too bad I won't ever be able to cosplay them. XD

It's funny everyone should really hate Tyrion he's so arrogant and a bit of a dick but I think he's a great character. Everyone I've spoken to about him thinks he's an amazing character.

I can go on for hours about Tyrion but it seems like a lot of people haven't read the books yet. *twitches the way a fan does when she knows lots of spoilers but can't share*

Haha, I have thought about starting the books because I've just finished the 2nd last book of the huge 13 book series I was reading (damn writers not finishing their book series' sooner)

So I'm needing something to read until the last book comes out but I know that the fire and ice books aren't finished yet either and I don't think I can start another series that's not finished, I already have 3 on the go at the moment.

Tyrion, Arya and Daenerys are currently my top three.

I'm always wary of picking up a series that's not finished yet, but on the other hand I find the endings of most books I love dissapointing; not because they aren't good endings, but because it ended at all. At least there are other fantastic stories to move on to

Haha it's funny that, I'd say exactly the same people! The guy from Stargate Atlantis makes me laugh as well (the horse king guy) but thats purely because he's playing almost exactly the same character as in Stargate.

Yeah especially when you've invested loads of time into 2 different 13 book series' I'm not really wanting it to end. My main problem with the huge series' is that I've got a crap memory so if I get to the second last book and the last book isn't going to be out for over a year I'll have forgotten all that's happened.

Wheels of Time and Tales of the Malazans is the two mega series' I've got left to finish and I'm waiting for the 3rd book in the Painted Man series as well. I liked a bit of David Gemmell, the whole story was nicely wrapped up in one book. There were sequels and that but they were all nicely wrapped up in one book so you could really read most of them in any order and it'd still make sense but I'm digressing, Game of Thrones FTW!

This show is amazing. Not read the books but love the show enough that I'm going to be cosplaying from it ^_^

Last night's episode was epic!

Too bad they couldn't show the battle of Whipering Wood (battle in which Jamie got captured)... but if they did then just one episode would've cost the whole of the series's budget. ^^" It did feel a bit disjointed though, suddenly seeing Jamie caught. >_>" Having read the books I knew what happened, but I wonder how it was like for people who don't know the story?

From someone who hasn't read the books there was enough information to show Rob had sent 2000 men as a diversion and used it to capture Jamie.

I've been a fan of the book since the second one was published. Feels like forever!!
When me and my best friend heard about the series we followed it from day 1. From the moment it was accepeted to the moment production ended....and watching it so far has been a dream O_O

Also I finally get to cosplay Dany and maybe be recognised instead of that random girl with silver hair and purple eyes in rags XD Lmao
Dany <3

I did feel that it is a bit disjointed. I felt that the Imp got from the Vale to the Lanisters place (I'm rubbish with names) very quickly which I'd imagine was probably stretched out a bit more in the books. It also wasn't really explained, they just came back from battle with him. "Woo Hoo we caught him"

Thanks very much!! I feel I really want to read the books but I don't want to ruin the series for myself

AHAHAHAHA! God yes. I hope he dies horribly (the character, I mean. I'm sure the actor is lovely and doesn't deserve the enraged booing he'll probably get from people who can't tell the difference between fantasy and reality now).

Yeah he must be a very very very very good actor

I bet Eddard wished he got a Dire Wolf as well now. I really did not see that happening. Well I saw the double cross happening (criss cross) but not the proper end of the episode

I bet a lot of people who haven't read the books (myself included) didn't see that coming!

Ordered the first two books now, the only reason I didn't read ASOIAF was that I heard this was coming out and didn't want to spoil it ^_^

I can't wait to cosplay Robert!

What a dick XD

Also I have to add that last scene from the latest episodes was like a million time more traumatising than in the books....just seeing Arya face and Sansa having a meltdown and Ned having this moment of calm when he realize Arya was safe

BAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw ><

I rage quite the book for about 2 weeks after it happened. XD I threw it at a wall and refused to read it XDD

Though obviously now I'm glad I went back
Just the tip of the iceberg afterall
