Does anyone else find it infuriating when people post reference pictures and are too dense to mark it as a reference picture? It spams up the "Photos" part of the website with stuff nobody really NEEDS to see... C'mon, it's not hard to select "Reference" instead of "Costume Photo"... If you do it by accident, fair play, just take it down and repost it as a reference picture, please.
I can not be the only person who finds this annoying and i've noticed that it's becoming more common recently.

Personally I just ignore it. It happens and for me it's not really one of life's concerns. :-/

Mine has been a bit unusual lately ive had to take stuff down that even though ive marked it as ref its gone up as costume. Ive had to re upload pics a few times.

It's not the fact it happens that annoys me, though...It's the fact that some people completely overlook the fact that they have to pick between reference and costume picture. It happens, yes, but most people notice and change it.

then all is well! with most people its an honest mistake but there are the odd few that just overlook it on purpose tbh.

Some people do it deliberately to advertise what they're planning to get more comments. That doesn't sit well with me. It's up there with posting 5-8 photos of your face in different expressions or very similar ones. Not necessary...

But meh, people can do what they like

The annoying thing is you HAVE to choose either ref or costume photo to be able to upload a photo and yet the same people continue to get this wrong. I just presume repeat offenders are that desperate for attention and so it deters me completely from even clicking on the costume. If I want to see what new costumes people have added I go to the costume section.

It clogs up an already fast gallery, I want to see progress/finished photos not multiple myspace angles of no costume in particular.

It REALLY REALLY annoys me...probably not for the same reasons as you guys...

Us moderators have to go through all of the photos and change ones that are marked wrong...it's quite annoying and takes up a lot of time.

I don't envy you Sean! And another thing, certain people deleting and uploading the exact same photo repeatedly and hoping no one has noticed.

We do get that, but it's hard to pin down. I once told someone off for it as I saw the same photo go up three times within an hour, but it was three variations of a character and the picture suited all three :-\

I'm glad i'm not the only person that finds certain things about the photos section annoying...I felt like a right grumpy bum

Something Ive encountered is trying to delelte a photo and then upload a new photo in its place - for some reason the old photo seemed to keep coming back. I think I had to change the name of the new photo to make it accept the new photo in the end. So I know I have tried to upload the same pic myself sometimes but that is why.
One more thing Ive noticed uploading pics is that the thumbnail comes up blank if the photo contains certain chars in its filename. I think it was the dash which caused problems. I figured this by trial and error, so again that could have been me deleting and reloading the same pic trying to get the pics to show properly. Sorry for all the extra work this created. I didnt realise every pic goes through a mod first - this means some of you are up as late as me sometimes..and Im talking very small hours.

The same thing's happened to me. If the photo has the same filename as something I've uploaded before (I just happened to have given it the same name but it's a different picture), after uploading it either doesn't show or the old pic with the same filename doesn't show. So I had to go and delete things and reupload and feel bad about spamming the front page with my repeated photos. =/

More often than none, it's your browser caching the filename and displaying the original files. This has happened to me before as well, and I just ended up clearing my cache, and trying again.

OT - I agree with most of the above comments wrt uploading multiple pictures that have a 'slightly different angle' or blurred pictures, or things that just don't really need to be there, or duplicates etc etc.

about spamming the front page with photos etc. lol, this is why I now have half my costumes with a blank icon, so that any updates I do to them, don't appear on the front page, and only people who've added me as a friend will get those updates
A neat little trick I learnt from my counterpart on CI. ( You know who you are ;P )

The only thing that annoys me is the constant posting so many different pics onto one cosplay, they all look pretty much the same, and would like to see something different at least.

and as for people selecting costume or reference photo, it just makes me think are people that stupid just for attention, i always upload one reference with my costume at least then add a few along the way if i'm making or upload 2 or 3 when it is done to get different angles of me wearing it. I don't know about many people but you it really annoys me when i see just anime pictures along the photo thread on the main page, i want to actually see the hard work other people put up there to inspire me to work on mine more, thats why i come here in the first place hehe ^^

But see, the above are acceptable. There are people (I know this for a fact) that post up a picture and an hour or so later, if they haven't received a rush of comments, delete the photo and repost it to draw more attention.

That makes me a sad Sephi. I don't like it when people do that. It just ends up being off putting and I find myself not wanting to see the costume because I'll be expecting nothing new on it. I much rather see variation on pics.

It is annoying that people still get the photo category wrong. I understand if its an honest mistake but people who keep doing it should no better.

I did that once by mistake, but there are people that actually do that purposely? Wow.

Also, why would people wrongly categorize/upload multiple times just for attention/comments. Psht, I think its stupid, doesn't annoy me but I think its stupid.

Personally I love getting comments/PMs/replies on threads because it feels so rare. Especially with comments because its showing that someone took the time to visit you and look at your costumes, but not for the wrong reasons c: That's just me though

I must admit it is a tad annoying but I don't think its as bad as it used to be, as you say though it does seem apparent people do it just to get attention which is a shame really >.<

I also hate it when people upload like 5-7 facial shots to show either the wig/hair and/or make-up and they normally all look the same ¬¬ But what can you do really XD
