The mop handle I'm using for my hammer arrived today! Just need to go and get some card and paint for it, some fabric I need for the kimono underneath, and to do a few little details. Not much left! And not long left. >_>

Masquerade people replied!

The girl was lovely and said she had a few inquiries for the number limit so was going to remove it...
I'll just copy and paste the reply, so much easier XD

I've had a few groups question the size limit, so don't worry I'm not going to split you up - I'll be removing this restriction for the masquerade.

However, what I'm saying to everyone is that you cannot fit more than 2 comfortably really down the catwalk, 3 at a push. What most large groups did last time was to come out and pose on stage which is fairly large, then go down the catwalk in pairs/small groups.

With such a large group though, remember the people *not* walking down the catwalk will be standing on stage for quite a while! So I'd suggest making sure you have a few different poses as each pair goes down, work with each other, etc. Although skit performance isn't allowed in the masquerade, small interactions between characters and such is absolutely fine and can make a lot of difference in larger groups. (Basically, have fun with it!)

When you attend the masquerade rehearsal on the Saturday, we'll show you exactly how the stage is set up. After the briefing there's no events running in the hall so you can stay and have a practice on stage, although you might have to wait a little and share with other groups! The way we queue and get people on and off stage might be hard using both entrances, but I'll chat with you on the day about that

Hope that has put your mind at ease a little!

So ya I think we can get everyone on stage!
But split into pairs
We get a rehearsal at 1pm, like she said and we get to try stuff, but we prob wont get that much so it will be good to work it all out beforehand... especially poses and who goes with who and the order

Also as for progress... I nearly finished helping my monkey make his costume and I will be starting mine on monday and it shouldn't take too long

Oh we'll definitely get everyone on stage. I like the idea of little interactions between us ^_^ Do some posing, have some interacting, pose some more etc.

Woo! LOVE it! Epic group will be epic on stage as well! 8D

sjbonnar and Angel:of_Algebra: loving the progress!

Going back to Oslo tomorrow, so I can finally start my own cosplay! Can't wait!

Put up some prop progress:

Occurs to me that it's quite ambitious for my first prop work. XD My first prop was going to be a boomerang for Hope Estheim. This is a tad bigger.

yay! So glad the Masq issues are sorted :3

Just need to get cracking with the costumes.

Sadly my Sewing machine isn't well atm so has put me back a bit and have had to change some costume plans. Sakuya and Oki are still on the list and I'll do what ever it takes to get them done lol :3

I'm just about to submit the Masqurade entry form. I have the 12 brush gods down and Amaterasu.
lol for writting out everyones badge name XDD

Who else is entering?
picklesofdoom are you and your bf entering with us? If so I need a badge name to put him down as XD
Also Darkerlink said she wasn't entering, what about ElegantAura?

Right for now I have just entered the Brush gods as one group. But I will happily enter everyone else as well when you guys get back to me, and then on the day we'll go up to the nice organiser people and see if we can come on all together! (Or at least right after each other)
Everyone cool?

Jeez, I've been slaving away on Kushi today and she might actually be taking shape (Will post photos up tomorrow). I completely forgot how i won't be able to walk in her dress though haha Not sure the organizers will like me on stage as I'll probably take half and hour to get down the run way lol But I'd certainly like to join in ^_^ Well done on sorting it all out!

So close now, but looking forward to seeing everyone's costumes!! Stupidly I've left my wig and headgear til last...probably not the best idea with only about two weeks to go >_<

I certainly would like to go on stage with you guys but I'm not at all sure if Mr.Oki is happy about going on stage. He'll certainly he happy to join in with photographs and photoshoots prior to masq. His badge name is Wolfsaber but I'll let you know for sure if he's ok for going on stage.

Elegant Aura: Do you know if the others are going on stage for the Masq at all? If theres no one else to sit with then he'll likely just stick with me. lol :3

@pickles: I know that Sammy and Afro aren't going to take part the masquerade, so i'm sure he can stick with them ^_^

Right now off to work on my kimono, must finish it asap!! lol

Also made ym gloves and tackling the armour today...

Also made a start on the weird...saddle like thing on her back....I had no idea what I was doing I just sat down at my sewing machine and like 2 hours later there was soemthing??!

04 Aug 2011 - 15:2965458
Ahaha.... I'm getting more nervous about this as time goes on, I'll need to power through the rest of the costume over the rest of the time I have. (I've been procrastinating, as per usual... >.> )

Hopefully I won't freak out too much at the masqerade either... ;A;

04 Aug 2011 - 18:0365482
Don't worry. I'm in a panic over the masquerade too. And not just from fear of falling off the stage due to a combination of tall shoes, a top-heavy prop and liquid courage. XD At least being in a group isn't quite as nerve-wracking as doing it alone.

05 Aug 2011 - 00:0165512
yes! I finally got a grip on myself and styled my wig

Love love love my ears....and think the crazy kasu fringe doesn't look that bad ^.^

Can't wait for everything else to come together

05 Aug 2011 - 19:0365571
Made a little more progress. Actually feeling like I'll finish in time now. XD

Post pics of your wig and ears, Toshi!

Otohime is basically done! yippeeeee!
Just a bit of cleaning up and finishing off to do - I've taken some photos of the mostly completed outfit (on my profile) so let me know what you think!

Just to check, the group is meeting up Saturday morning, right? Just want to make sure I have enough time to get okami photos with you guys before I head off and change into my masquerade outfit! Also, where are we meeting?

06 Aug 2011 - 17:0565651
I've never been to Ayacon before so I don't know my way about or any meeting spots....maybe some vetrens could input on a nice meeting place

As for time...we will all be getting ready in the morning and I am hoping everyone will be ready by 11am at the latest, so we could meet then.
We have to go to Masq rehersals at 1pm, (which you dont hve to b in your masq costume for)
I reckon it will be a quick breifing then you get to practise being on stage so it wont be longer than a hour.

I was talking to peopl about this yesterday and that would be a good time to have a photos, between the Masq rehersals and the Masq...but we'll have some in the morning as well

06 Aug 2011 - 19:1465680
The easiest meeting places IIRC are either the student union building or the semi-circular stairs. When you've walked around for 5 minutes you'll know both these sites ^_^

The stairs are like where people would sit to watch plays are are also quite close to the SU building as well!

The masquerade practice probably won't allow us to go on stage, it's more like a briefing where they tell you what's going to happen, explain where you'll be standing etc. and go through the key points.

I hope they get Matt Mercer to join Mark in hosting it again this year ^_^

The Piazza (ie the semicircle steps) sounds like a sensible place to meet, especially since it is a big group and thus we can have staggered layers- though SU would be better if it is raining! I'm Bring and Buyin first thing so may be a little later than 11, depends on the queue and what time I can drag myself up!

Can probably hang around a little after the masq briefing, but need to see how long it takes me to get into my cosplay, as it is a little insane... guess I shall be trialing it next weekend when I should, all things going to plan, be able to finish her off.

I really cant wait to see, especially such a huge group of brush gods! Cant believe there will be so many!

I think the Steps would be a perfect place to meet actually! Quite visible, close to the main buildings and is situated on the main pathway to get between the two buildings used for Ayacon. As SJBonnar said, when you're there about 5 mins you'll be able to pick up these key places quite quickly. There's a Costcutters on the corner of it and its also alongside the main road onto campus where the bus drops you off (if you have to get the bus in from town or PTI) you'll probably also notice that general area being the place people order/pick up Dominoes from when its late and peoples want pizza.

Theres also woody/grassy areas nearby that we could then move on too for photos. Had some fun times at a FF9 photoshoot around there last Ayacon :3

Steps it is then
I'm sure I'll find it XD

I don't mind pm-ing my mobile number to anyone who would like it as well (just to make finding each other easier) XD

Also progress! Styled my wig and put a makeup test up!
Managed to get white eyebrows just with eyliner pencil XD

09 Aug 2011 - 19:5066027

Would you mind if I had your number? just want to make sure I can find the group since I may be late in meeting up!

09 Aug 2011 - 21:0966042
ok guys, my extra red hair extension I was going to get, to add a bit more flare to my mohawk, but as it turns out my seller can't get it to me in time ><. So do you guys think the way my wig is the now will be ok?

Would it be okay if I got your number? I'm completely useless with directions, so I guess it'd be best for me o have someone to contact if I get lost ^_^;
