Ive created this post to let others know who is going to the amecon in 2008 and what costume you would most likely be dressing up in.....

For me this is my first anime convention to go to lol so my first choice for cosplaying would be dressing up as dante from the devil may cry series and hopefully getting his sword to go with it...it will be difficult but thats the greatness of doing a cosplay isnt it lol

It's tough to say what costumes exactly I would be doing at Amecon 2008, but we had a talk about it on the Sunday of Amecon 2007, and I shortlisted a few.


But maybe it's better to keep them secret, that way people will have more 'wow' factor when they see them!

That would be my advice.

The problem is it is a year away o-o;;;
Although I have some costumes on the go again now, I may not even use them >.>;
Plus... I may see a character I really like...
I mean.... I changed one of mine at the last minute for amecon 07 X3

although its a year away ive had to start planning my next cosplay now as its gona be big and costly, so im not going to change my mind (i hope)

lol, I really haven't thought about it yet. Amecon seems such a long way away, but it isn't really. You guys are rather organised!!!

I'll get through the rest of '07 and Minami first I think. The latest I've planned for is Japan Expo next July, just because we need to organise and record a skit in French >___<; oh dear.

As so far i'm only planning on going to go to ame next year as my only convention. I've got plenty time to plan. I'd like to get started sometime soon after fuyucon and as i have a steady cash flow this year it should be pretty easy to.

As to what you said spookyruthy about not revealing your cosplays; that's good if you're a doing a well enough known cosplay but if it's even a little obscure it's nice to get the word out so people can have an easier time recognising you (although looking at your planned costume i'll definitely going to recognise you straight away as i'm a massive DOTT fan XD)

I've got one cosplay i'm pretty set on doing so far (Serpico from Berserk) but the others are up in the air at the moment, one i'd really like to do but i don't think i have the skill to make it well enough (Captain Harlock with Mr. Bird) and the others depend on whether i can get a group together or not (section 9) and if not then the other option might be The Wanderer (from SotC) but there again i don't know if i'd have the skill to pull off making it

...maybe i need to take some sewing courses or something -__-

oh my Amecon08 eh? i may reuse my Jiraiya for this one since it was my best cosplay so far XD i have Elizabeth from Gintama defo as well... and well i'm gonna minamise how many i do to 3 or 4 for 08 the hassle of going back and fourth to change is annoying D:

hmmm, well I've already started thinking a bit about next year too. I will most likely be re-wearing this years costumes (Kanda D.gray-man, Kagura Gintama), but making them better, and I'm still not deided on soem new ones yet(whatever i decide now, i'm just gonna change my mind later XD) I'm trying to keep my options open in case I happen to stuble across a new show with a costume I just have to cosplay.

I'm keeping my options open too, but I would really love to rustle some people together to make a scrapped princess group - the show needs more cosplay love! I'm also thinking about .hack// cosplays too...but I have so many costumes I want to make it's hard to choose. ;_;

I've got one I'm definately going to try and do for Ame '08 and then a couple of other cosplay ideas, but nothing too final. There's still a year and my interests might change by then

Well ive figured out the 3 costumes im going as on the Amecon 08...they are..

Day 1 - Dante (devil may cry)
Day 2 - Edward Elric (full metal alchemist)
Day 3 - Roy Mustang (full metal alchemist)

I'll be going as Yuffie Kisaragi from Final Fantasy VII. i hope to meet loads of other VII cosplayers since my Boyfriend will be Professor Hojo from the series. Last years Red XII was fantastic and i hope to see her next year.

Hmmm ill be there as my wisdom sora but im also thinking of getting a legend of dragoon costume made rdy or maybe go as Abel in his crusnik form from trinity blood either way its lookin to be alot of money and time making

Now that February Expo might be cancelled, I could go all the way down to Southampton and go to Minami-Con buuuuut. No.

Well, it is ages away and I have a lot of things I *might* do for it.

I tend to see what my friends are doing and do groups with them. Much more fun for me that way!

I have a couple of solo projects I am considering, but I want to see how the rest of the year goes. Need to get Minami and May Expo out of the way, and think about what I am going to do for Japan Expo in Paris.

I might consider attending Anime Expo again as well! >.<

Not even thinking about it right now! I do have a big cosplay wishlist to work from, but I'm leaving it till after Minami to choose something

She made a freaking awesome Automail arm out of nothing but Funky Foam and rivits. It looks reaaallllly good!

I've not yet been to an Amecon, but plan on going in 2008...but I'm nervous LOL I know the quality of costume is much higher there and I am pretty worried ^_^'

Anyway, I think I'll be there this time!

Ame '07 was my first time attenting Amecon but I had lots of fun, so hopefully I'll be able to go next year too...it's too far away for me to say for definite though, plus I'm planning to go on holiday Summer 2008 so I'm hoping it won't clash/I'll still have money by then >o<

Well, the Amecon period is looking frightfully busy for me! :S

I am planning on attending Anime Expo in LA again, but only for a few days. However it is *just* before Amecon...so yeah...

Amecon is a good con, it is a shame that due to the halls being far away and people being separated it can lose a bit of the "closeness" of other events like Minami. BUT it is the perfect convention for meeting new people and making new friends.

(Even if you are hideously shy in person, like me ;P)

wow always wanted to go to a US con but ive never been the the US or know which cons to go to.

i always feel rushed a amecon, theres always some thing to do or some where to be so i miss out on meeting new people, the only new person i met as mark in the waiting for the masquerade . but it never stops me coming back as one new person is better then no new people.

US Cons are really enjoyable!
I went to AX last year with a friend as part of a holiday in the US and I met tons of great people. (Including my cosplay hero Matt Miller! XD)

AX is a far one to go to, but it is massive and people over there are just so friendly!

As for Amecon, I felt rushed the first one but after that I sort of settled in. I tend to plan photoshoots for cosplaying, and then make sure I plan time to see friends and get food. Then I party hard in the evenings! XD

i normaly dont plan any thing till i see the time table which isnt till after ive had a nice pint after being in line to get in i then get told i have to be in 3 different places at once to meet the same people as they cant sort them selfs out
