Oddly enough I got called emo the other day. If you know me you'll know that although I'm hilariously cynical, I'm probably one of the most energy filled people you'll know.
I can't be bothered to get my haircut and my fringe flops down.
So as I was browsing the baked goods in tesco during a lunch break a couple of girls walked behind me and said I was an emo or something along those lines, I would've ignored them if they didn't say something about wrist slashing. I thought it was necessary to say:
"I don't cut my wrists but I do give blood on a regular basis. You see the nation's emergency blood supply is running low. It's something a lot of people should do, so instead of ending my life I save another. Save a life, give blood."
I hope those two heed my advice. It would be nice.

Can I just say something that might make me unpopular... Some cosplayers really do draw the wrong sort of attention to themselves willingly. I actually witnessed a Germany cosplayer (from Hetalia) in Hyde Park with a Nazi flag once... Even without it, walking around in a German military uniform in the general public will offend some people. Just...be smart about where you go and what you do? Yeah Something as blatant as cosplaying Germany AND the nazi flag...well, even I would discourage my friend if they tried that. My friend told me another time these two Germany Hetalia cosplayers had nazi arm bands and even the flags for a con...I thought that went too far (they werent even allowed in until they took away all that gear) (sorry for sidetracking!) __________________ London MCM Expo - May 2013 Friday: Desmond Miles - Assassin's Creed Saturday and Sunday: Numbuh 3 (KND) or Simon gijinka (Alvin & the Chipmunks) Last edited by Gazizaty (05 Jul 2011 - 22:02) |

You should also donate bone marrow, it doesn't hurt and can also save lives. I think bone marrow supplies are worse off than the blood supplies |

Now, I very rarely get any rude comments from random chavs due to my wardrobe being full of "geeky" t-shirts with references that if you don't get, you can't really rip into. Now I just get comments/stares regarding my breast size, but I suppose I'd rather that than be attacked for my interests or clothing style. |

I remember being told by my ex once that a group of chavs verbally abused them at a cosplay meet for about an hour asking if they were "devils helper" and what not. Which is the very reason I've taken a likeing to learn how to fight, despite the fact I hate violence. problem is though these days if you try to defend yourselves you end up in trouble and not them. Which is kinda why I look like a weak target to most people (but I'm actually pretty strong according to most people) |

What is it that everyone, regular people, bullies/chavs included don't like to deal with? Answer = crazy/ mental/ insane individuals. If you're on your own and approached by a group of menacing individuals, just go crazy: scream, roll your eyes, wave your arms around in a manic fashion. They will back off. I know this is not an attractive option but it is something you can use if things get dangerous. |

I've actually been trying hard to avoid the colour black in my clothing and I still get funny looks from people, although, the last time I got called emo I told them to "get a job" and called them a "chav" surprisingly enough this confused there minds and they started having a go to what trousers I wear? |

It will only work in a public place where there are other people (potential witnesses) around. The aim is to draw as much attention as possible to the fact that you're being harassed. With the eyes of everyone in the vicinity on you, your attackers will most likely walk away. (a big No-No if you find yourself in a dark alleyway) |
