you can either get one already made to your style, request one or gets a longish one and cut it to your liking. I doubt whether it will be cheaper to make your own. I mean the ones from Hong Kong are not bad and are damn cheap. |

The thing with ebay is to watch out for the quality. Basically you want to avoid all sorts of joke shop wigs and the easiest way to tell is if it's a picture of a real person wearing the wig. Look out for pictures of them on a wig head (like this) and it's more likely to be nice quality.
I looked up an image of the guy you're wanting to cosplay and I think you might be best with something like this and you can cut and style it as you want. But if you want more info on it this site tells you what you need to know if you take a look around. Or ask Angelphie who knows all. |

Maple are a Japanese wig company and they make the *best* Cosplay Wigs I have ever seen. I own two of them and they were a pleasure to work with and wear. I think they may even have a US site now, but I am not sure. I ordered from their Japanese site, and then saw then in Paris at Japan Expo. But yes, their wigs are gorgeous. Do a bit of research into them. Highly recommended! EDIT: I should point out that the wigs themselves are gorgeously cheap. My brown one for Snake/Li cost me 20 euros at Japan Expo, which is an amazing price. Shipping however, may cost you a bomb. Last edited by Anlath (24 Oct 2007 - 20:03) |

Ive tried your suggested searches on ebay.co.uk and .com and cant find anything remotly right Green wigs aren't quite as easy to find, especially if you're wanting them in a particular style, so if you want a wig that doesn't require a lot of styling maybe try and find it in white or a very light blonde and you can dye it (which Angelphie wrote about in this thread). Or you can go to American wig/cosplay websites (I mostly use http://www.cosworx.com ) where there are a lot of great styles in loads of different colours! Maybe start off with something like this? And make the spikes more...spikey (^^; ) with the magic of hairspray. If that makes sense... Last edited by Ashe (26 Oct 2007 - 22:18) |

I think that way total shipping is only around £5. Plus when I tried ordering from them I couldn't read the kanji on the order form so it's better to get a friend to order it anyway.. __________________ PR officer for the Grand International Cosplay Ball http://www.grandcosplayball.com |

*ahem* I would say go with the first one dude, it has a centre partying and seems to have the curtain fringe already. I think that one would be the easiest to work with. Saying that though, considering the exchange rate at the moment I would suggest buying both. Just because they look like great wigs and as they are from the same place you may be able to get them both in one order. Never hurts to have cool wigs laying around ^^ But yeah, first one gets my vote. |

Personally, I prefer the 1st one, I think its a better cut for him. However, I've got a wig in that exact style but a different colour, and although it is lovely it is not as thick as some wigs. You might have trouble creating the spiked style at the back without a lot of the wig cap showing. Personally, for any slightly spikey wig style I buy a punky wig, but I love them so I'm biased The only pic I have up so far of a hacked-up punky wig used is Calintz, on my costume page. That might give you an idea of how far down the front comes. Sorry if I've made the choice harder XD |

Sory to waste you time. Hey, it looks pretty suited to the character to me. To be honest its much easier if you can get a wig already styled, or that needs the least amount of styling possible, especially if its your first experiments with a wig! I've actually ordered the white version of that exact wig, it looks pretty good (and the seller is pretty reliable) however on mine at the very front you could see some of the netting and lines where the wefts are shown. Yours might be okay though because its dark, which should hide any thin parts of the wig easily. If you dont go for this particular wig, I'd suggest searching for 'punky wig' and having a go at styling one. (they are fairly similar to his hairstyle anyway) but I think the one you linked would be fine, really! |
