Any ideas where I can get....
A long padded glove or mitt like Rikku wears in FFX?
I've searched Ebay to the last page: wool glove, long glove, padded glove, fireproof glove...etc.

But nothing quite right as come up:/
The fireproof glove I did find was stupidly expensive though, so I'm throwing my hands up and asking anyone here.

Is there any other name for this type of glove, or a place I can get one? My last option is to make one...And I really don't want to try making glove patterns again*fails*.

Thanks in advance!

p.s. A secondary question I might as well stick in here as well. I need to make the Katalina-Ann gun prop for my Lady DMC3 outfit... Which would be the best technique for this? I'm not that experienced with making props tbh.

For the gun I'd use a PVC pipe with the barrel that dimension, but I doubt you can easily find one so pop down to the local carpet store with a *fairly* small saw because you don't want to look like you've been on a manhunt, LOL what with the knife crime going on in the UK. Anyway, ask for a spare carpet tube for an art project (prop making IS art, right?) and they should have loads which are waiting to be thrown away. This is where the saw come sin handy, saw off a portion that is just about more than you need to allow for mistakes. Do NOT attempt to catch the bus home with this tube. A car is ideal ;D

The strips that go around the barrel of the gun could be made from cardboard bent around the tube. At the front of the gun is a long rectangle boxy bit which looks like it could be made out of cardboard and stuck under the barrel. The ragged blade at the front is relatively easy, you can make that out of plasticard and slot it onto the boxy thing which was just attatched to the barrel.

The back of the gun looks like a sequence of wonky shaped boxes, I would make a couple of identical wonky shaped boxes and arrange them in that pattern at the back. Glue gun, tape, and papier mache are your best friends!

Similar to the above but I really think try the working gun model (the water gun I linked you to looks so similar) and attach the hollow tube as the barrel, try fabric shops as well for material rolls.

If only we lived near Paul's (fallen off the back of a lorry into the thames) Fabrics still! XDDDD

Thanks goiz I shall search for PVC pipes and the like, and I think I've found a glove that might work for Rikku also!
Hope I don't get outbid though>(

LOL, ebay song springs to mind...

Sorry if this is a bit off topic but it's cosplay related yes? eBaying for items? Well, I don't fully understand what sniping is though. Is it when you place your maximum bid right at the end of the auction? Everyone says it's a pretty good way to win auctions but what if the max bid that you put in gets beaten by the existing bid?

hahaha, I think that song is actually my life.

Yeah pretty much, just waiting till it's nearly the end, and then stick in a high bid and hope it beats them.
If it doesn't they still win, but I usually wait till about a minute, if it doesn't beat them I'll have time to think whether I wanna stick in a higher one...

When I did Lloyd Irving I put 'red leather gloves' into ebay and got some Welders gloves. They were a pretty good price. I had to make a few modifications but they looked great. I got a good price too.

Even if you can't find them on Ebay welders gloves might just be the thing.
