Hello! I'm new around here and need a little help please! Does anyone know where Squall's gunblade actually fires from? Because I've googled countless images of the weapon and they're all from a sideways view so you can't tell. I'm planning on making it so details would be useful!

And also, what colour are the highlights in Rinoa's hair? I've never cosplayed before but plan to go as Rinoa for the Manchester expo (local con! yay!). I'm too wussy to go and dye some streaks into my hair, so I was wondering if it's possible to get very narrow clip-in extensions?

Rinoa's highlights change colour depending what reference images you use. They range from a dark blonde to a brown or a slight red shade. I went with auburn for mine and bought some clip in extensions but they had to be trimmed down to make them narrower.

For Rinoa most people call them "caramel" which is a browny blonde, but as Leonie said the colour ranges depending on where you look. I'm going for a dark blonde/medium brownish colour for mine

As for where the gun shoots it's hard to say as you never really see it close up

If you look at this picture you can see the barrel and travelling a little bit up the blade looks like a silver pipe, it's possible that's where the bullet shoots out. But it'll definatly be near the base of the blade ^_^

Hey, I don't think it really 'fires' to be honest I think it just pushes energy along the sword. I don't think it's a rifle bayonnette type thing. I assume this is a picture of the actual model from the game.

Ah, thank you all for your help! It does appear that the blade doesn’t literally shoot bullets or anything like that from those images. If I remember rightly, in game all you ever see is a red explosion every time Squall pulls the trigger in a fight when he hits someone with the sword part. I’ll try to make it using the images you’ve all shown, thanks!
My hair is black and pretty much like Rinoa’s in style (it was a coincidence, plus I didn’t want to something too difficult with my hair for my first cosplay!) so a light caramel shade could be pretty striking and suit it.
Now… for actually making this! The duster shall be the biggest challenge!
