Cosplayfu.co.uk Stocking Wig Advice
Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone here has any dealings with cosplayfu.co.uk? I want to cosplay Stocking from Panty & Stocking With Garterbelt and the only place i've found her wig is on that website.

Here's the wig.

Usually I order my cosplay wigs via a dedicated ebay seller, however due to this particular design that's not possible. I'm just wondering if:

1. The site is a safe and valid site to use.
2. Track record with delivering items (I once ordered two wigs from a Chinese ebay seller & they never turned up)
3. Customs charges for wigs? The website says they will write down it being a low cost item, but if customs do decide to charge, any ideas for the kind of price range?

I apologise for the questions, but this is the only site I can think to ask

I haven't used the site myself, but

The price looks good, esp for a wig that long and with 2 colours in.
Customs charges apply to products ordered from outside of the UK, and at my last check, it was :

total of item + shipping = whole amount
If the whole amount is more than £36 (I believe) then you will be charged 20% VAT by customs, and if coming by courier they may charge an additional handling fee (Parcelforce for instance is £13.50)
If the whole amount is under £36 (and marked as a gift helps) then there shouldnt be any charges

If you do get hit, you will either have a letter sent (if being delivered by courier) telling you the amount and how to pay it, or a grey card like the red "sorry you were out" ones, telling you what the charges are, that it is at your local post office, and to take it down there and pay the charges over the counter.

Hope that helps

Hi there~

I'm afraid I can't really give you feedback on that website/seller.
What I was going to say was if it turns out that that website isn't trustworthy, my favourite and most recommended seller on eBay does a stocking wig~ http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Panty-Stocking-Stocking-cosplay-wig-/250767033127?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a62e14327
I will admit the colours aren't as vibrant as Cosplayfu but it might be useful to have a backup ^^,

Thank you so much, this was exactly the kind of info I was after Very useful to know. Hmm I was going to have the extra £1.50 HDNL fee but if a courier requires an additional handling fee I may just opt for free shipping. With the order coming to £39 it seems likely that i'll get charged a customs fee, but if the site has good feedback I don't mind paying the £7.20 (I was worried it might be £20 or something, haha).

Ah thank you so much! Most definitely it is good to have a backup, and one that comes so highly recommended. If I cannot find out any first hand experiance with cosplayfu, I will likely opt for this one. Thanks again~

I can't find the reference to HDNL on the website, but if that means they're using these guys - ABSOLUTELY AVOID. It's paying more for more stress. I've just had a godawful experience with HDNL and if you google you'd find lots of bad reviews too. Might as well just get it shipped by regular post.

I have used this site! Only once! And that was with a cosplay cause I didn't leave enough time to make all my cosplays myself! Though I've just bought the Deidara wig they have cause I've given up on my ebay sellers - they have not gotten back to me though I message them a month ago!

Once isn't really enough to see about a cosplay site, but they seem pretty good. They do have a tracking system, not sure if it works as I have not used it. they do give a tracking number.

There are risks of delays up to the 16th of Feb on their end at the moment (they emailed me to informed me that this would be happening). However, if you put the date which you need it by and it's relatively close, it seems like they'll fast track you.

Customs Charges... I have NEVER EVER had a wig I've ordered stopped by Customs, but my friend has. They charged her £30, but her mum stepped in and managed to get it waved off. Then the wigs arrived in one giant knot - we joked that the bald security men where running around going "Chiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!"

This is gonna seem odd, but I don't think you'll have issues with Customs as long as you're not Irish. My friend mentioned before is the only person I have known to have Customs stopping their parcels (it's happened before with clothing from America and such), and she's Irish. That's all we can think as to why pretty much every parcel her family orders gets stopped by Customs.

I've used cosplay FU several times now and never had a problem with them for both wigs and costumes

they're very helpful too should you need to get in touch with them!

I purchased a wig from cosplayfu about a year ago and while I can't really vouch for anything really because it was only once that I used the service - it all seemed to go pretty well :3 I wasn't hit with customs charges like I was worried I would (and it wasn't a cheap wig either! I think it came to maybe £40 + postage?) but maybe I was just lucky, I don't know D;

They do give you a tracking number, which I used, and was able to track my parcel :3 unfortunately it didn't actually get to me in time for the con I was gonna wear it to, so just make sure you're leaving plenty of time to order it. I only left like 2 weeks for it to arrive so I should really have thought to order it sooner.

tl;dr - basically they're good and I hope you have a good experience with them.

That's quite a bit. They're not cost for postage to the UK anymore, and all their wigs prices have dropped 40%

Like I said - this was about a year ago and it wasn't done through their UK site, AND that was after reduction as well : ( it was a really long wig.

I have an eBay seller that I use now 9 times out of 10, but cosplayfu was a one off.
