I'm Asian and I agree with the points made above my post. I'm only 156cm (I think thats 5ft 1' lol I'm not good at converting measurements even though I got a degree in Maths!) because of my height everyone thinks I'm 17-18 years old, but that doesn't bother me much because it's better then saying I look alot older then my age. My shoe size is small *coughsize3cough*, so there are times when I have to buy my shoes from the kids section. I hate having small eyes! When I got my driving lisence, my photo was shrinked and it made my eyes look closed! Occasionally my eyes close when I smile (notice I rarely smile in photos lol)

woo.. I'm 6D, Whenever there's sale, I'm confident enough that I can find my size, not much Caucasian have my size (according to nine west store clerk).

You do ballet? same here, though I quit last year, senior year just exhaust me, don't have any spare time, but I'm going back again, since now I'm a high school graduate, hopefully I can earn back my spot.

totally get it.. that's exactly what my problem is, whenever I'm using eyeliner truing to make my eyes look bigger, NO USE! gaaah~

I know! Sometimes I wonder why I even bother but then look in the mirror and think "well you wouldn't want anyone to catch you looking like that" and put up with that hour-long rigmorale that is commonly known as make up! I've found that false eyelashes help a little though! If only we didn't need all that though!

Here's an interesting question: Would you ever consider the operation?

I'll always think about it when I'm a little hormonal and fed up with my stupid eyes! But other times I think (with make up on) the overall shape of my eyes aren't that bad could I ever make a decision that would change the reflection in the mirror for ever?

Yeah I'm a size 6 feet and when I went shoe shopping in China everybody were shocked at my size 39 feet. Ok I know I'd prefer them to be smaller like a pretty size 4 but come on! They're not THAT big! Huff!

Thank you for your compliment btw! I'm very flattered! You're very pretty too! Especially as Xin Rong Fei! You have a very good sultry face!

Haha your comment reminded me of very funny story (not that funny as only me and my bro are reduced to tears when hearing this story so you might have had to have been there) my mum was showing me something and I couldn't see it no matter how many times she pointed it out so out of her frustration she shouted (in cantonese) "for crying out loud blackbean eyes, it's there!" hohoho blackbean eyes... how appropriate because I have small eyes and I'm so blind I'd probably see more if i did have blackbeans for eyes!

specially, there's this new techniques, called hidden suture, so, in the past they actually cut a bit of your eyelid skins to make a new lid, now they don't, they just sew your lid a bit, really, it's not visible, and viola! wee, the recovery is.. like 3 weeks - 1 month, but it's not like you can't get out of home, i even went to europe! hohoho..

Woah.... just been reading up about it! It's so fascinating! So do you get to wear "normal" make up then?! I'm so jealous!

well, If what in your mind bout normal is the same as mind, then yeah! I don't need to wear scotch anymore, though I still use fake eyelash for cosplay, but, I like the way I look even w/o make up now.
happy mode!~

yup.
hahaha...
Is it that weird?
since I'm studying to be a plastic surgeon, I think I should try to endure what my future patients will.. (as if, you're just a med first year student!)
blah blah blah, never mind.
yes, it is "real" eyelid, the one that's stuck to your eye.

06 Aug 2008 - 10:435176
forgive me, i haven't known any oriental folk intimately enough to be able to tell, but what's wrong with your eyelids?

06 Aug 2008 - 11:295178
Some Asians don't like their single crease eyelids partly because it's hard to apply eyeliner/eye makeup that is visible. That's why some wish for plastic surgery to make them into double eyelids, or some use special glue.

yup2! exactly.. though if you don't know many asians, I doubt you'll understand what single lid look like.. well, in my case, I have a single lid, and my left and right eye's lid aren't symmetrical, so I did the surgery to repair them too (else then to make double lid).

i am intrigued...

i didn't realise there was a difference between caucasian and oriental eyes, besides the general shape and darker iris.

08 Aug 2008 - 00:315216
Hahaha it's not ignorance at all! We only know about it because we (well some of us) suffer from the problem! You'll have to google it! My friends used to use me as a guinea pig for their make up courses and they never understood why I couldn't open my eyes until the liquid liner had dried... and also how futile it was! Hohoho surprisingly, they all passed!
