Okay so, some of the animes that got me started were not very well known.
Animes like, Kamisama Kazoku, Ghost hunt, Getbackers or The law of Ueki.
How meny of you Cosplay or plan to Cosplay from an unknown anime?

I'm plaining on cosplaying Linag Qi from CANAAN which has a even fan-base [meaning not too much but not too little]

Cosplay wise for that anime though - not many people at all unfortunately, it was a bad ass anime : )

Only one i got thats slightly 'unknown' i'm more off a game type and some anime

There are a few Pet Shop of Horrors characters I've been considering doing. I'd love to do Honlon or Sui-Oh or even Ten-chan's 'exorcism' outfit but I think they're way out of my skill level. But one day I want to do Tetsu/T-chan.
Oh, and if I found a Count D, I'd totally do a gijinka Q-chan .


I'd love to do some of Ishtar's dresses from Vampire Game as well, but again, way, way out of my skill level.

Depends really ^.- I cosplay from things like Patlabor which is pretty much unkown for most modern anime fans for many reasons XD Things like Kamen Rider arent well nown *I know thats not anime but its along the same lines, there actually is anime of it but thats a long story*

I'm planning on cosplaying Michiko from Michiko to Hatchin. It's pretty unheard of I think.
I wont be surprised if I end up showing some people a picture of her just to prove I'm cosplaying xD
I do enjoy cosplaying unknown anime characters(more than the known ones) such as Hell girl but it can get a bit lonely sometimes :/

Do games count? I'm doing Cecilia from Wild Arms for Minamicon, it's a old game now, so I don' think many people will recognise me. But at some point I'd love to do Sasara as Tatara from Basara I looks like it'll be alot of fun to do, but I don't think many have read the manga.

I don't know if this counts either, but I want to do Nina Hopkins from Kuroshitduji, but she's only in the managa, so I don't know how well known she is. I think a lot of people watch the anime rather than the manga

I'd love to do something from the 12 kingdoms and RG Veda one day. Oh, and the costue from the fornt cover of Vol. 1 of Le Chavialier D’eon.

I tend to gravitate towards lesser-known or lesser-cosplayed anime series and characters! I've done quite a few over the years and I have quite a few planned for this year too, although I don't want to say who any of them are until I actually start on the costumes XD

Ditto, I'v done over done cosplays in the past, but if I do them I try to do something different with them. But the more I cosplay, the more I want to do lesser done characters. There are still a couple of common cosplays I wanna do, but I've dropped cosplays before because they've been done so much I just felt bored by the idea of making another one to go into the mass.

Though there have been quite a few times when I've decided to do a costume and then, by coincidance, loads of other people choose to do it as well.

I tend to go towards moderately known series and/or characters that are not cosplayed much.

Im fine with characters/anime that are done alot but I like the thought of making people in conventions happy that they are seeing a character that isnt seen much in the real world or were once popular years ago and now have a smaller fanbase.

As long as I love the series, it doesnt matter to me if its popular or not.. for example me and a friend are cosplaying from 1/2 Prince at midlands this month which barely anyone will recognise but i still intend to have lots o fun!

I think I tend to go for stuff that's either over-cosplayed (Final Fantasy; Kingdom Hearts) or has a fairly large following, or at least is well-known. I can't help liking popular things D8

I do like not-as-well-known things as well - for example, I've never met another person that knows what Destrega is, and I was going to cosplay from it this May before I got into Umineko, haha - but I tend to gravitate to well known stuff that I can talk about with lots of people.

Not that it matters when it comes to cosplay though; if you like something, go for it! I'll only judge if people are being loud and obnoxious and stupid, not if they're cosplaying the most popular thing this side of Jupiter.

Zombie Loan and Godchild I plan to cosplay people from. Even though with Godchild it's kind of hard to see what coloured clothing their wearing since it's a manga, not an anime. I'm not sure if Blood+ or Jigoku Shoujo's an unknown anime, but I plan to cosplay one or two characters from either of them.

But other then that, I normally cosplay charatcers from popular stuff. xD

I'll probably be cosplaying Ginji from getBackers and Rin from Blue exorcist sometime in the future ^^ No one really knows blue exorcist yet, but it's a great manga and I'm sure it'll get an anime one day.

I really want to cosplay Adale from Good Witch of the West/Astraea Testament. She's so pretty ;.;

Games-wise, my most obscure character is Tiffany from Pokemon Ranger.

I cosplayed Melfina from Outlaw Star last year and possibly about 5 people knew who I was.

My best friend cosplayed Gene and we ended up loving anyone we found who did know what we were from, which, as I said, wasn't many.

It's such an under-rated series.

Also, he plans to do a cosplay from Planetes and has found no cosplayers on the internet at all from that series.

I cosplayed Nagi from Kannagi once and only one person knew who, but I still cosplay characters from unknown series because it's mostly all I watch =P Soon I plan to cosplay Misaka from Railgun because I love her (I bought frog PJs because she wears them XP) and Mami from Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica one day no matter how trippy and messed up I find that series =P

I did Wapiko from Goldfish Warning at Ame 07, no one knew who I was!

If anyone actually knows that series, well done!

As for something that underdone. Sailormoon isnt exactly an anime that isnt well known, but Naru and Umino from it are characters that Iv'e seen NO cosplays of ever.

Actually, I saw a Naru at expo last Oct. I was very impressed, made me very happy. It's always great to see characters that don't get cosplayed from popular shows being done. But then, the same goes for all the other under cosplayed characters

Unknown cosplays are yay! If I ever saw anyone cosplaying Kindaichi from Kindaichi Case Files I would be sooo happy 8D I think like people have said, though, there is a difference between unknown and simply undercosplayed. We're putting together a big Super Robot Wars OG group for Minami next year but as there's only been a few of the games actually localised and they were released ages ago the chances of people knowing who we are are pretty remote XD
