Good morning folks. I came upon the site via an image I saw on DeviantArt. I must admit, I am no Cosplayer myself, however I am a photographer and usually do weddings, portraits etc. This is not a plug for my business in any way. I usually struggle to find people to photograph for my personal obsession with photography, and not just people but INTERESTING people. I find the costumes you folks wear pretty incredible and would love the chance to do some outdoors photography with some of you should you be keen. I am not promising amazing images from the outset as I have never tried this before, but hopefully we can work together to produce something good. I am in the North West area and willing to travel should you know of a good location etc.

If you're in the North-West then MCM expo in Telford is coming up on Feb 19th, where there should be hundreds of cosplayers happy to have their photo taken

Thankyou. I have seen that and may go down out of curiosity for sure. However I was thinking more of creating images in a good outdoor setting rather than an Expo. I have been browsing some members profiles on here and there are some fantastic looks and costumes.

THANK YOU Crazedteensie: I never knew EXPO was in Telford as well... much better than London as it's about £25 getting there and back opposed to almost £100 to London incl tube and all that.. so probably will go Telford now instead, thanks for that.

Yeah I see what you mean about outdoors setting; Expo and cons are pretty limited in terms of background.

I think people are interested, they're just a bit shy. Where are you located? I'm sure lots of cosplayers would be happy to meet up for photos. Also, if you see a costume you want to take photos of, PM the cosplayer! There's no harm in asking.

CosI is a relatively slow moving forum, it might even be worth posting on a few convention forums just to let people know you're out there and interested.
I would definitely be interested but it would depend how far north you are as I don't drive annoyingly.

Yeah this! I love working with different photographers so i'm interested, but i'm based in London at the minute so it's a little tricky...if you went to some events I would be interested in booking a shoot with you though. ^^

I'm on the wirral so it's a similar situation for me XD There's also one in manchester over the summer so that may be easier to get to as well!

Seconding this, if you don't want to go for on-site shoots perhaps looking for local places around the con that would be good?
I know a couple of times myself and others would have loved to go to offsite places (churches, forests etc).

Some of the costumes though are really good. I am well impressed with the effort that goes into them. I will try and be more active on the forum and see what it's all about.

only had 1 cosplay so far......which got a bit ruined....but i wear Lolita fashion and have taken to alternative modelling if you fancy a shoot at some point

Ah you see I had that problem to start with but now its not a problem at all! the best thing I have found is attending meets. I'm not entirely sure if there are lots round where you are but theres plenty kicking around glasgow edinburgh and dundee!
