Could I use craft foam for armour? I want to make Lenneth from Valkyrie Profile as my first cosplay.
Just trying to work out my options with armour.My first time and all lol.

If after searching you still aren't sure, you need to be more specific with your question, otherwise it's really hard for anyone to help you.

Craft foam is easy to work with, easy to paint, and cheap to buy. I used it in my Astrid Hofferson cosplay, and it was brilliant. You're on the right track.

Craft foam makes great Armour and is tougher then you think if you go on my costumes and look at my Gabranth that suit is all craft foam

I used craft foam for the first time on my Kuja armor pieces last summer- they were really resistant and great to work with.
Its really versatile and gives a great effect. Stick with the stuff its brilliant! Its worth researching into different methods on how to strengthen it after you have cut it and are ready to paint it. I used the pva glue method which was a really easy and quick way to make the armor!

Yeah, craft foam is a great material to use. You can find a tutorial here http://entropyhouse.com/penwiper/costumes/helmsdeep.html If you can't find craft foam in the UK it can go under the brand name Funky Foam. This is where I buy my stuff from http://www.fredaldous.co.uk/search.cgi?action=search&query=craft+foam&level2_id=269 it's about 99p for an A3 sheet thats about 2mm thick.

I did pop along to hobbycraft and got Fab Foam, 450mm x 300mm to have a little mess around with.
