I've normally always done three costumesfor expos, one being rather casual for the Friday/or nights but this year's oct expo I pulled off 5 cosplays... 3 changes in one day; because of groups. Thatwas an interesting run around which I won't be in any hurry to do soon.

Hurr Kita is judging rather hard right now trying to keep it at my limit of 4.

Only one costume per day at an Expo. I’ve worn 2 in one day before and there’s not much time to fit them both in. Even now with the 3-day event, I didn’t wear a costume on the Friday, I prefer just 2 costumes for Expos. Most I’ve worn over an Expo weekend has been 3 costumes, 2 one day, 1 the other day. I'm not keen on overdoing it.

At conventions, I’ll usually have one costume per day, and will most likely limit it to that if I’m not staying onsite. I normally am onsite though, so will bring more. I tend to travel to cons on the Friday morning, so just wear one costume that afternoon, but for the full days on Saturdays and Sundays I’m happy to wear up to 2 costumes each day, very occasionally 3. I’ll often have a costume for a specific event only - the masquerade, ball or whatever - so it’s easy to fit in more than one costume in a day. I generally end up with 4 costumes for a convention, which I find ideal, but sometimes I‘ll wear 5 (I once wore 6 during one con, but one was only for a party one evening)

Just depends - there might be a good reason to bring yet another costume, even if it’s only to wear for a short time for some specific event, but there comes a point where I’m running out of room in my suitcase/hitting the airline’s luggage weight limit and if I take too many costumes I won’t get to wear each one for a decent amount of time, so that’s why 4 or 5 at the most seems to work well for me.

Always one a day for me. I can never be a*sed to change in the day.

hmm depends on the event, the next event; Kita I'll be taking atleast 6 maybe 8 depends on preconning, etc. and for upcoming expo I'll be taking 4, got loads of cosplays in the works atm so gonna be taking advantage of the events I'm going to! x

For Kita I'll probably take 2. One simple one for lounging, and one that is absolutely a chore to wear..

One, but I only attend Expo on the Saturday of any event.

I only go to Expo. xP At my first Expo, I just did one. At my second, 2, third, 2...
October Expo just gone I did 3, since it was a 3 day one... xP
Next Expo I'm staying one night, not going on Friday. I'll be doing 3, technically though.

I usually do one a day, but for a proper convention when I'm staying on site I'll change for any evening events. At Aya last year I had five, I think, and that was all right, but I wouldn't want to do that for expo. I don't like carrying the extra weight, and I like not having to worry about going and changing.

I take about 4-5 orginal but now i only take one big project or two semi big projects so i can focue on them more and not stress about thing :3

Ive taken 5 to a convention once and that was enough for me, I aim for around 2 for Expo and around 3 or 4 for conventions depending if there is a ball or not... and whether I got the space in the suitcase...

I've only ever been to MCM, and I've always done one costume per day... For May I'll be making 2 costumes for the weekend, but I may reuse an older costume for the Friday if I can be bothered... I guess if I was going to a ball in the evening I'd take something for that too.

I'm a go crazy with my cosplays so for a three day con i would probably take between 7 and 9 cosplays (this is not including precon!) this is normally - one for each day, one for each party and one for the masquerade - plus odd simple cosplays as backup/if the situation to wear them arises

Personally I don't think theres a limit - I think the only limitation is the size of your suitcase

This is so very true... I had more cosplays planned for the last October Expo but I couldn't take 2 of the costumes due to lack of space!! Sad times when that happens XD (Was tempted to just not pack normal clothes but I'd rather chill out in normal clothes haha!)

For cons I usually bring 4 costumes: one for each day then a dress for the special event on Sunday. If there is a themed evening then I may bring 5 ^_^

For Expo I wear 2 costumes ^_^

I'd like to have a different one each day but it's always quality over quantity for me so if I know won't have the time to finish every costume to the standard I want, I'll choose to concentrate on fewer of them instead, and wear one for more than a day or rewear an old one.

I agree. I mean I take a fair few to cons as opposed to expos cos of the night parties etc. But if I dont think it's really good enough I will either not take it at all or take it and see how I feel.. then not wear it. Wasting VALUABLE suitcase space! xD

I always only do one for the MCMExpos, because it takes me the 6 months between them to scrape together enough cash for one costume! lol

But I would like to do one for each day! I just don't have any sewing skills, time or eqiupment to make my own stuff.

I am also looking into going to more events!

It depends on how well I can pack them, maybe doing three in may, although one wouldn't take upmuch space and could be partially worn under my normal clothes if the problem arised.

for cosplay wise, i always take a minimum of 2, thats because if one of them fails due to the weather i always have one to rely on, and for convention wise since they are 3 days long, wouldn't hurt to take a 3rd for a party and stuff hurr

Most I've done in one expo is 5, technically, cause I changed in the evenings on Sat&Sun (October 2010).

Even if I only plan to have one per day, I like to take another (or be able to turn one of them into a less complicated/easier to wear version) in case of the following reasons:
a) It's too hot/too cold
b) I have a particularly heavy cosplay/prop
c) It's too uncomfortable
d) It's impossible to wear for more than a few hours (for whatever reason)

For May 2011, all three of my planned day-cosplays have huge props, although Friday and Saturday should be fine since both are relatively cool (temp. wise) to wear and shouldn't really be uncomfortable and the props won't be too heavy. Sunday, however, there's a 60/70% chance of me needing to change out of it due to a heavy/awkward prop and the fact that it's going to be the hottest cosplay of the weekend >_<

I went to a 4-day con last year, and only intended to wear 3 costumes (one was done twice), however I ended up wearing 6. The first day I wore the same costume all day, however, the next three days ended up with me changing for the evening stuff.

Normally 2 for me. I tend to wear my favourite one twice and put together a non cosplay outfit for the parties.

For Kitacon Im planning to bring at least 3 as the ones in mind are are definites (one of these ones are complete).

I'm very much a costume-a-day person; I have done two in one day before but felt neither of them got enough love because of it. Besides, recently I seem to have a tendancy for making ridiculously over-sized headgear, so I don't have the room to bring too many outfits to events anyway!
