Perhaps you could supply a ref pic of the sort of thing you want to do (any prefered kit etc) and also give us an idea of your skill levels. Have you ever done anything like this before? Do you own a sewing machine and know how to use it?

It's a bit hard for people to jump in and say this is how you make this exact outfit in step by step instuctions. Perhaps pick one bit that you are worried about or completely stumped by and take it from there.

Depends on which tauren from World of Warcraft you mean sweetheart.

I know the majority of them have mega detail in them, miss the detail, distory the cosplay sorta thing.
If your worried about materials you should go to fabric shops and feel the materials/check the colours or ask the staff about what would work best.

As for detail, kick it down into little bits. Say work on the shoulder then to the torso etc. so ya don't over load ya self with that bloody detail! XD

dainty toys supplies fur (not real) and quiet cheap if you have one near you to check out. Hope this helped ya sweetie.

Okay.

First of all I'd have a read through of the making fursuit heads tutorial on the site, it's very good. If you felt fur was too thick, an alternative is to use a plush fabric over a latex mask. You sculpt the head out of something like pastacine, paint over it in latex until you have a good mask and then stretch the plush fabric over the latex and glue it in place. Attach a standard wig and you've got a full head mask.

You probably want to make a body suit out of the same fabric for the rest of the body and you could use the necklace to disguise the join between the head and body. I'd probably make the hooves out of latex as well.

I think it's a good idea for you to do a clothy though, it solves most of the leg problems...

For the hooves, I've seen a variety of different solutions.

These are for a Draenei but you could modify them:

Another way I've seen:

But, if you can't make convincing hooves, you could just make the robe long enough to cover your feet, and then you could we some form of platform boot to get the extra height you'll need...

For the head... I'm not so sure...

Perhaps if you can't make a proper mascot head, you could always make the base out of something lighter, such as papier mache?

Then, if you use some sort of filler to make it smooth, and stretch the fur on top... It could work, but I'm not sure...

Do you know what armour you'll be doing? There's a girl called Kamui, who's like some sort of WoW cosplay god... You might be able to pick some tips up from her... Check her out:
http://www.kamuicosplay.com/

Actually, after just looking at her stuff, I just thought you might be able to craft your mask out of foam, in a similar way to how she does her pauldrons and the like...

Hope this helped a little bit >_>;;
