Children in Need
Hey all, as some of you may know it's Children in Need next Friday. When I was at work yesterday I was SO thrilled to hear that on the Friday for children in need we are allowed to come in fancy dress! £2 to take part and we're all going out for drinks afterwards. So I've decided I'm going to use my cosplay from MCM! XD

So I can't wait to see how much of a laugh it'll be dealing with customers and stuff, but I was also wondering... Is anyone else doing something special from Children in Need? Just was thinking about what we're all doing for the less fortunate. (Or maybe you're not doing anything!) Either way (And I'm certainly not judging people who don't donate/raise money for whatever reason.) I was just curious what everyone else's thoughts were. What do you guys think?

That's so cool, I'm jealous. I'm not doing anything, but then, I only start training for a job on tuesday. Kinda means there isn't anything for me to do for it :sigh:

Anyway, you have tons of fun

Oh yeah! Go for it! I remember in my school the sixth formers would dress up as well. But I think a superman outfit just wouldn't be anywhere near as epic as cosplay! Who you gonna go as?

Well I mean, do you have a job? Because if you do, you can always ask about it. Just say you think it'd be a fun idea to raise money for charity. I know it depends what your work is, but there's no harm in asking, right?

I will thanks. XD Well, sadly we can't all have fun I guess. I mean it's a charity event afterall, fun is only part of it.

... To be honest, you don't NEED an excuse to dress up, right?

... Actually, with the looks you get going down the street, sometimes it feels like you do... O.o

Probably just a simple Cardcaptor Sakura battle outfit ^_^

I like to buy the Pudsey cakes and cookies from Greggs as part of the cost is donated to Children in Need.
Just an example of something small and simple you could do (plus they're tasty!)

Dude, I work in a shop too! I work in TJ Hughes, so we're like just as much of a shop as anyone else! Ask away, man I mean they MIGHT like the idea. (OK, yes they might look at you like you're a moron, I'll give you that.)

Hmmm... Don't think I know that... (epic fail) But I kinda feel like a noob compared to a lot of people on this site! Still, show me a picture if you do, i'd love to see it.

Yeah, that's the spirit! Like I said before it doesn't matter if you're running a marathon or whatever. Just as long as you do something thoughtful, right? And yes, they ARE yummy... For someone who has a lot of exercise I do have a REAL weakness for food... O.o

Anyway, I mean if everyone bought a cookie like you, how much money would that raise?

I used to LOVE children in need when I was in school and college, dressing up to college for the day was so fun <3

Though I actually found going as something generic, like a pirate, was more fun than cosplay, because the public seemed to get more involved.

I'll be keeping an eye out for collections going on around my uni. I'll miss going out around town with our collection buckets

Haha, I may go in as Haruhi Suzumiya to school. x'D I think it's too short notice to raise money for it, but if anyone asks why I'm wearing it, I'll say that's what I'm doing... >w> Cuz my school is full of chavvy scum. xD
I buy the cookies too<3

I like that idea!

To be honest, I'm loving all this feedback! Incase anyone was wondering, cosplayed to work, I was like one of a shameful FOUR people who actually dressed up! It was fun but man I got SO hot in my outfit, at an expo that's not too much of a big deal, but when you actually have to work it made things errrr... Difficult?

Quite honestly I was glad to get out of my outfit!

But yes, getting back on subject, as long as the event is like in London (Not amazingly far from where I live) i'd be game for a big cosplay group!

I dontated money this year, as I always do but never took nnote of the actual date *facepalm*. I think I'll make and sell a load of hats for next year. If my earnings from expo were anything to go by, I could raise quite a lot I hope!

A cross-country cosplay day for Comic Relief sounds like an awesome idea XD
