You know of any cosplay dating sites?
Hi there everyone!

Do any of you know any good cosplay dating sites that are free? I think girls who are into cosplay are cute. Especially the Japanese/Chinese ones. So can anyone help?

Thanks.

P.S. The dating sites have to be FREE, as I am uncomfortable with giving out my bank details.

I have to be honest.....this comes across as incredibly creepy and i'm a bloke.

"Cosplay dating" - i don't whether you mean dating people who are cosplayers (in which case yknow......socially interacting with people at conventions may get you there) or dating people while they're in cosplay (the latter some people do actually want, which is just a bit....odd).

in general though.....eh, creepy

You do realise that alot of the cosplayers that you see, that are chinese/Japanese, are cute because they are pretty much models? Or at least a lot of the ones that make it onto this side of the web anyway and that chances is that they wouldn't be able to speak english so which would make dating them hard (at least over the net).
Gotta agree witht he other two guys.

However, a dating site for cosplayers in general would actually be a good idea...
Specially as my ex thought cosplaying was really weird and just didn't 'get it'. >.<

Still, it's the way he put it is kinda creepy (especially as he doesn't appear to be a cosplayer himself, no costumes), and I agree with what's been said. It's easy enough to meet people at a con/expo. Peopole are friendly and very open to making new friends and it's easy to build on that.

However, you could always suggest the idea to the people who run cosplay island, having a dating section that is, or start up a dating thread.

Maybe a good idea would just be to talk to people on the forums here? I've made lots of friends that way, but if you were looking for a partner, get to know someone on here first and maybe something will come of it O.o' I find this ever so slightly creepy also, since you don't appear to be a cosplayer... Little bit fetishy, if you ask me... >w<

You have to be VERY VERY carefull with the idea of a dating section on CI guys........

The internet gives you annonimity (spelling) and it really allows people to be whoever they want to be and as such can lead to some very very dangerous situations especially if someone is impressionable.

Yeah, if I was gonna date someone from online, I wouldn't make myself available by going on threads as such... I'd make friends with people, get to know them, and if it happens it happens. Dating sites, you're trying to force it to happen. Let it all happen in due course. 8D

you don't need a site to date cosplayers go meet people at a con. Learn about them in person. it might take longer to find a relationship but its a lot safer as it is much more honest. + your likely to pick up some cosplay friends just by talking to people.

Thats how most cosplayer relationship gets moving.

True, however, my mother met her boyfriend on a dating site and they've been madly in love for a year now.

They're in their 30's though, so I suppose going out and just meeting people is something neither of them had time for. But there are a few good things to say about dating websites.

However yeah, on a cosplay site there may be a few creeps. I've already had incidents with creeps for my Faye cosplay and I've not worn it out yet. >.>

So I can imagine the creeps other people would get too..

I can imagine the unforseen flaws.

You meet the perfect partner in every way. But they hate mecha and you worship Masamune Shirow.

Or you find someone who's great but just can't appreciatte the humour in Detroit Metal City or Cromartie High.

Worse still if you can't stand intricately drawn out and highly detailed storylines and they ask you if you want to watch Ghost In the Shell's SAC.

Or maybe you started early with Fist of the North star on C4 really late at night, then watched DBZ/sailormoon, and followed all the releases like Urotsukidoji, AD Police, Trigun etc (there's much more btw that even I didn't get round to watching) AND THEN YOU MEET SOMEONE WHO TURNS OUT HAS GOT INTO ANIME VIA ENGLISH DUBS AND 4KIDS.

Its so deliciously flawed. I for one find myself incredibly curious to see how many would sign up (probably 90% of anime fans, hey, everything's a status) and then watch it all fall apart and create even greater divides in the community.

Lets face it, the anime community is a small world. 6 degrees of separation is quite apt with us.

TL;DR
Flawed. But it'll be funny at least.

that did give me a good giggle

(Y) just for the cromartie and GITS:SAC references xD

Honestly I think I just described myself there, <3 Mecha, GITS, DMC, Cromartie, Trigun... I'm also 6'1, black hair, brown eyes, enjoy long walks on the beach, GSOH..

ahahaha... Honestly could not help myself. I really do like those animes though.

But seriously, I'd never find anyone on a site like that unless I just put "I liek bleech lol". *shudder*
