| Hexi Joined: 02 Mar 2008 Posts: 694 | i've tried to find explanations on how to make a simple kimono pattern before and i've tried 5 or 6 of them but by far the best way to do it is to find a kimono pattern in the fancy dress sections of pattern books.
they're pretty simple to modify (ie: make it shorter, make the sleeves longer etc etc). the only thing to hold you back is the amount of fabric you have. ^^ __________________ Amulet Dia - 100% Complete! ![]() |

| Georgi Joined: 09 Jul 2008 Posts: 97 | The basic kimono type garment is the easiest thing you (or your mum) will ever make! It's symmetrical and you don't need to measure too much of it up because traditionally they are made so they can be easily adjusted with an extra fold and a tighter sash!
2 rectangles for the back so you get the seam down your spine 2 rectangles for the front(slightly wider than the back pieces for overlap) 2 rectangles (folded in half) for the sleeves 1 long thin rectangle for the collar The hardest bit will be the neck and shoulder part of the collar. Oh and use an iron where you can. Have a look at my Anotsu on my gallery!
