New and old Cosplays for upcoming cons
Just a random question for all the cosplayers who attend the conventions. Do you ever re-wear an old cosplay, or do you make a new one for every convention (or day) you go to? I know a lot of people are stressing over making their costumes, but for me personally, I try to make at least one new cosplay for a convention, and use another one I've made in the past. 'Cause let's face it, cosplay's not the cheapest hobby in the world. What do you all do? XD And since we're on the subject, what cosplays you all making? Or wearing for the October Expo?

Good question ^__^

I myself havent made many costume compaired to most. So i DO rewear me. Im rewearing my Poison Ivy for the cosplay fever launch tomorrow, and catwoman hopefully for expo.

Last expo i wore Fang(who was new) and Tifa(who was old). I usually do the same as you and have a new costume ready and rewear and old one hehe.

I used to do the "one costume for each day" thing but it wore me out terribly! A while back I said I was going to scale back to one new costume per event and start rewearing old ones, since I actually make them to last longer than a weekend (my earliest efforts were quite poorly made, they were designed for a few hours of a single day and if they stayed together any longer than that, it was a bonus!).

It's nice, actually. I always feel left out if I don't cosplay at a con, so knowing that I have everything I need to wear something means I don't need to kill myself trying to get things done on time.

I always like to wear at least one new cosplay to an event/convention. I am a fan of re-wears for two reasons. The first being that the time it takes me to make a costume it seems so silly to wear it once. The second is getting known as that character/cosplay.

I also re-wear costumes that I love.

I know what you mean It's tough to make a new costume for each day, I don't know how you did it! O: I too always try to make a costume to last. So it's always good to take time with costumes, and it's half the fun anyway. I'd feel kinda gutted if a cosplay I made and spent money on fell apart by the end of the day I always try and start the costume early as well. It saves on the stress XD

That's absolutely true ^^ I remember wearing my Rip van Winkle costume to a couple of the expos, and people were recognising me from previous cons It was kinda nice. I like making new costumes to practise sewing ^^ I want to build up a nice collection of cosplays ^^ I can totally see what you mean

to the years big cons such as ame ,aya. I like to try and wear all new ones, but I will take some old ones down for parties and such. However for day cons like though bubble, expo I'm not as bothered about re wearing one. Usualy this tiem of the year I have no cash, so if I attend any it's either very cheap quick costume, or one I already own with a few touch ups done to it.

I'll pretty much always re-wear a costume if I like it and still like the series. If I've made something I'm particularly proud of, there's no way I'm only going to wear it once! :3

I also partly re-wear costumes because I don't have a lot of spare cash lying around and can't afford to be getting tons of stuff for new costumes every few months, eheh.

I make new costumes for Expo because that's where I'm usually in groups, but for other cons I go to (In Belgium and France) I've yet to make a new costume for them...And I'm rewearing onld costumes for Kita since I won't be able to make my Expo ones alongside new ones for Kita, but I've plenty I want to rewear!
If I keep going to Kita though (this'll be my first year, hopefully) I might make one new cosplay for it.

Yes, I do like that people have remembered me from my Abel. He is a favourite costume of mine due to the amount of work in to him. So I am flattered that people do remember him. I wear him as often as I can. I do also like the challange of making new things so I like to do at least one costume per event.

I'm always re-wearing costumes, simply because my busy life doesn't grant me time to make new ones. At most events I'll bring one new costume, two re-makes of old costumes, and one of the latter will more than likely be my Dan Hibiki costume (OYAJI!).

This is simply because some of my costumes are liked by people, I just love to wear them again for those who didn't see them last time. Take for example my Gyarados costume, which I first wore at May Expo on Sunday. I regretted not wearing it on Saturday as everyone loved it, so I wore it at Amecon and am going to wear it again at October's Expo - this time on Saturday.

I tend to make one or two new ones (depending on how many days the event is) and then rewear something for the last day :3 Whether I rewear something comfortable or something flashy that I really like is kind of down to how tired I'm feeling the night before...

I find rewearing to be a real joy as you tend to know where the problems are, how to deal with them and generally what to expect from your less practical of creations (Emperor, I am looking at you >> ). Oh, and being recognised is fun!

Admittedly, wearing new cosplays is always a tad stressful for me - you never know what flaws are in the making until it all breaks and you are EXPOSED TO THE WORRRLD (never happened to me but it might xD; )~

I've only reworn one of mine...because it was the only non-bought one that'll stay together!

Come to think of it, since 2 out of 3 of my Expo cosplays fell through (and the last minute decider is being finished somehow!) I might buy some new leggings and bring out Toon Link again...I have a wig for it now at least XD

Still need a Halloween backup plan as my fabric STILL hasn't arrived! Royal Mail - WTF!?
