using lycra
hello, i need to make a knee wrap out of black lycra but im not sure how to hem it as surely the thead would break when the lycra is pulled out of shape,

any help would be great thanks

You need to use a zigzag stitch when sewing anything stretchy, but it should be fine. I've never had a problem with the hems breaking. If you're worred, hem a small bit and stretch the hell out of it to make sure

Does your sewing machine have a stitch with a broken zig zag, it's called a tricot stitch. A zig zag made up of three small stitches

/ \/ \/ \

like that ^^ Thats a really good stretch stich to use. You also get ones on some machines which are three parallel lines

like so ^-^ they are another set of stretch stitches, they will ensure that the thread doesn't snap when you stretch the material.

i started making it last night and the zigzag stich worked fine thanks for all your help
