Well I am asking you to bring out your wrost costume and why? It will show even through the Bad, if we Loved it in the begining or did it grow on us when we got better? I know alot of us want to see. ^_^

The dress was made in an evening, and it was before I discovered the delights of using a sewing machine. The wig was a cheap fancy dress shop/Smiffy's kind of thing which I cut, despite knowing nothing about how to style wigs. It looked predictably terrible as a result. This was also before I came to accept that wearing makeup for cosplay is NOT optional! And to make matters worse, this wasn't my first costume or even one of my earliest ones - I'd been cosplaying for eight years by this point! Yeah, not a single thing right with this costume at all. __________________ Cara bell', cara mia bella, mia bambina, o ciel! |

Probably this:
Heck it wasn't actually a real cosplay, just something I whipped last minute for a uni social >_> It's a sort of gijinka of Alvin the Chipmunk, I don't like it very much -___-; (I tore off the ears that I made a while later to use the headband for my boyfriend's Ho-oh head-dress LMAO) But oh well. I'm also not very fond of my cosplay of Kari from Digimon, but that's biased as I was only starting out. But I look back on it and am like BAD WIG! (I had to use hairclips to get the style I want because I wasn't styling wigs back then) and I NEED TO BIND (I did not look like an 8 year old girl T_T) Here it is:
I mean considering where I was in cosplay skillz, it's good, but it's not my best |

My first cosplay was Hidaka Ken from Weiß Kreuz. I think all copies of those photos have been destroyed out of shame, though if I manage to find it in the old email account I'll post it! |

My first like, let's say deliberate cosplay xDD! It was for the Naruto launch in Virgin in London. I'm supposed to be Orochimaru... Please note the poor attempt at freaky purple eyeliner, the stuffed purple snake ? ( it was supposed to be my Manda xD ) The tunic was an oversized T Shirt from Asda that I cut...and the trousers were just black tracksuit bottoms! The belt was a purple scarf!! The only good thing about it was the Sound headband, and the earings and pendant he wears...which was actually official! Oh and no wig....Fail !!

My worst one for me from when I actually knew about cosplay and thus was actively doing it was Dark from DNAngel - there was nothing wrong with costume considering the funds I had it was just I looked terrible in it and nothing like him! Costume wise, my worse one was my first cosplay, Link! I literally made it 11 o'clock at night using two t-shirts and a hole punch! I wore my creamy/white trousers and rollneck I had lying about, and cut down a little bit of the front of one of the tops and up the sides a little, then used the hole punch to make those little holes he has for a bit of thread, which I cut from the OTHER top, and also made my too small hat from that too! I had a wooden bow, sword and shield from when i visited castle acre back when I was 6 (or something) and used my sisters' leather belt, gloves and shoes (in black, so they weren't the right colour lol). I used my brown almost black hair for it too! It was pretty fail, but I still won! Proving that a crappy Link is cooler than any Japanese school girl! This was back when Waterstones did it's first ever ReCon!
(lol the shield was totally wrong!) |

I don't have any original photos from when I made the thing about 3 years ago, but I do have photos of the costume on my ci XDXD When I first wore it I wore it to a Tokyopop ReCon in Waterstones in my area.. I thought my hair was pretty close so her hair so I used my own hair >>;;; It was too short and I had a side fringe, lets leave that there XD Also, I hadn't discovered makeup back then either, I had a cold and.. Yeah XD;; Oh the fails. __________________ Can you hear me now; |

I'll post my first cosplay pictures when I get home. Sakura Kinomoto's 3rd opening dress. No wig, greasy hair, cheap shiny material, a... Heavier me and my mum trying her best to fit it properly and make it look nice but still making it far too big... *o*... |

In my defence though it is my first cosplay and I am working to improve it. I've only recently started sewing so am constantly improving (at least I hope I am!) |

I really need to improve it. Last edited by Petchy-mon (09 Oct 2010 - 21:41) |

The dress seemed to be great when I was making it, then I put it on, and it looked awful. I'm not very good at making dresses anyways. and the wig was cheap quality (not cheap price) from a fancy dress shop. Think I've buried the dress somewhere. I hope it never sees the light of day again ![]() |

Puni Puni Poemi, in 2005 if I remember correctly.
My first homemade costume, and my first time using a wig. The problems with this costume, except for the horrible wig; 1. I didnt know how to pose back then. (Which I still dont, but I've gotten better u_u) 2. TOTALLY wrong bodytype. And no make-up. Poemi is supposed to look slutty, and have big boobs, and I regret not realizing that I was the exact opposite in every way at the time I cosplayed her. 8((((( __________________ Faaaaabulous. |

It was a store bought Shana winter uniform from Shakugan no Shana. Despite giving the seller my measurements it came miles too big so it had to be taken in.. and it was... badly >.< The wig is terrible, so rough and shiny I hated wearing it >.< *blocks out of mind* ¬¬ I have learnt so much in the past year so just wanna say thanks to everyone cos you have all had an input in cosplay for me ^.^ |

-throws self at thread- Well, here we are. This is me at 15 as, uh, Vincent Valentine. First cosplay I ever made, using one of those mini £20 sewing machines by JML. . . The wig was a £1 Hallowe'en wig from Wilkinsons, the cloak was made of some sort of stretch fabric, the claw was mirror card and I wore grey jeans. Still, that was a damn good Hallowe'en 8D __________________ MCM Expo, London, May 2012: Friday: Sherlock (BBC Sherlock) Saturday: Ambrosius (CATS OC) Sunday: Sherlock (CATS OC), Sherlock (BBC Sherlock) |

well here goes: ma "original-last-minute-really-badly-made-lolita-yukata" it was an emergency and i still wanted to cosplay nia.. but this was just such a bad choice to do for me.. i mean my brows were covered horribly and it just looks a bit off to me very uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time |
