I loved Special A as well but I think some people know of it, makes me happy *w*

Loool, all my suggestions are shojos. I watch too many mainstream shonens...

Zombie Powder, the one that a scary number of Bleach fans have never heard of which shocks me, it's so amazing! <3 Gamma :3

ummm punipuni poemy is insane and amusing

Also, I know it's not anime but it's based on the manga...I love the japanese drama version of Absolute Boyfriend, it's so entertaining, I love it XD

+Anima for me. It's a wonderfull yet short series (the second shortest I own) and totally recommend it to shojo lovers
I love Absolute Boyfriend! That's the only series I know shorter than +Anima but still amazing

Outlaw Star.

So incredibly under-rated but it's up there with the best. Some of the greatest characters in any anime series.

Or if people have heard of it, they haven't bothered to watch it. Hopefully me and my friend cosplaying as Gene and Melfina at Auchinawa will make people aware of it's awesomeness.

And maybe Escaflowne.

The anime series, not the manga. The manga was awful. But yeah, another Toonami anime back in the day but I love it so much and hardly anyone I know has heard of it. D:

i LOVE escaflowne. have even done an Escaflowne cosplay.....

(Psst, +Anima isn't a shojo xD;; )
I do agree that it needs more love though! It's a nice read.

(Oh lol, +Anima to me is actually quite long! That's just me though, I'm a cheapo : P)

I LOVE ALICE 19TH! XD The story is so fanasticly fresh and Watase's style is so wonderfully distinctive

Guru Guru Pon-Chan was also one of the sweetest Manga's I've read for a while

And it feels like very few people have even heard of Rizelmine! I cosplayed as Lux from it and most people kept on asking if I was ment to be sailor moon -.-*** SAILOR MOON DOESN'T HAVE ZIPS IN HER HAIR! Really ticked me off by the end of the day but meh I enjoyed wearing that outfit none the less.

It also seems like not many people read the BLOOD manga, they've only seen the films of Blood: The last vampire. The manga and anime explain so much more about Saya's character and the sorce of her powers, enemies and allies.

And Pretear<33333333 I love Mawata. <3 That was one of my first animes, awww<3
It's sorta different, but I think the fandom for Cardcaptor Sakura should be bigger, like it used to be. I mean. Like. Lots of us, most of us. Know about CCS. But I wants my nostalgic fandom back<3

Cyber City Oedo 808 is flipping awesome. It was released over here in the early 90's so most younger anime fans haven't heard of it. It's a classic three part OVA.

Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo; I rmeember watching that at the first Amecon. We even named our quiz team after it.

Loved Gunsmith cats as well.

I really like Basara, but I'm about half way though and now it's out of print. Stupid companies discontinuing series while I'm still reading them. I'd love to do the main character at some point. No one would recognize me but I'd love to do her anyway.

MARS is another manga I love. It's not my normal cup of tea, but I really fell in love with the characters and the series.

Princess Tutu.

I'm pretty sure people get put off by the name, because they assume its going to be all sparkly and silly.

But its really not. I mean, it has its silly and sparkly moments; but its funny and endearing. But also has some dark underlying tones, and some truly heart breaking moments. Watching several of the episodes I was in tears from start to finish.

Its a really amazing anime. Not just in an animated sense; the stories and lessons from it are wonderful, and the relationships between the characters that people go through is so involving... Its an anime I could easily watch again and again and never get bored of because its such an interesting premise and beautifully executed.

My only gripe is the English dub, I do not like the voices used, so I stick to the original Japanese.

Mars is an awesome manga but its one o those kind o ones where the character designs are fairly ordianry and normal looking hence cosplay is awkward perhaps for it unless you had more the one character?

OMG Ginban Kaleidescope is amazing!! *hugs* I love the story between Sakurano and Pete -^^-
and don't worry I love my shojo too much as well! lol

Like for example -
Beauty pop - really funny and entertaining shojo ^^
Yamato Nadeshiko (Wall flower) - hilarious as it doesn't make sense...
Otomen - love how the main guy character loves the things typical girls are into ^^;;
Happy boys - cute short story about 5 cafe waiters
Gentlemen's alliance - GORGEOUS and complex story
and all works by Matsuri Hino like Merupuri ... (yes I am biased as I am a huge Vampire knight fan)

True, it's not one to cosplay, though I was speaking on more general terms. It doesn't seem to be a greatly popular series. Maybe there isn't enough possiblity of Shonen-ai pairings...

I approve of this! I even love the excessively sweary mid-'90s Manga Video dub XD

I LOVE W.I.T.C.H ^_^ I'm thinking about cosplaying one of the girls from it at some point in the future

As for unknown anime i'm going to go with Escaflowne which i see has been mentioned but needs more fans lol. It's awesome. Also for manga i'm going to say Fairy Cube. It's only 3 volumes long but is really well done with lovely art and story
