For spikes I use a combination of hairsprays:

Got2BGlued Freeze Spray is ideal, it dries quite quickly and creates effective spikes.
I pair this with Bed Head 'Hard Head' hair spray, after fleshing out initial spikes within each layer (remember to start from the bottom layer first!) with freeze spray I make each more spike more solid with a few spritz of this.
For fine tuning the end of spikes my good old friends the Hair Scissors and Fructus Style 'Manga Head' make great tools for making sure spikes refine to a point instead of fraying and such.

Then an all over spritz with Bed Head.
But the two main products for the spikes are:
Got2BGlued Freeze Spray and Fructus Style 'Manga head'.

Hope this helps. 8D

hmm, i've looked around various places like boots and a few hairdressing places and none of them have either of those two products mentioned. the most common i can find is shockwaves, would that be considered the next best thing?

Sure there is
Looks like that, smells good too
Dunno where you can buy it though.. I found G2B Glued at H&M yesterday. I live in Norway, but I'm pretty sure H&M has the same stuff over in the UK ^^

Don't use that on it though LOL The Got2beGlued is better by FAR.

I have to style a wig so that it sticks straight up 14 inches, and I'll be using that for sure.

I also used it for my Kenpachi spikes and they worked well!

A piece of advice from somebody who has made numerous spikey wigs...

Clays and gels are not that great for styling.

If you want to style a spikey (especially Cloud style) wig then you want to get HAIRSPRAY.

Tresume Freeze Hold is particularly good, but anything that is ultra strong and you can get a big can of.

The hairspray is much better for the strange of wig, clays and gels will not be absorbed like they are supposed to. They will do more harm than good.

If you can stick to hairspray and do each spike individually. Use a foam head and pins to help keep them separate.

i thought h&m was just clothing, but i'll check it out anyway if there's one near me XD then again, i wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have it, i learned the other day that in norway, you have a picture of yourself on your credit cards, but not on your gun licenses XD

edit: i looked around h&m and it was just women's clothing. i also found the tresseme freeze spray in boots and superdrug, so if i can't find the got2bglued, then i guess i'll have that to fall back on XD

ok, double posting, but felt i kinda needed to bump the thread for a good reason. i've done some digging and found out that the got2b glued spray isn't available in the uk for some odd reason, though i did find one tube of the gel in superdrug today, but thats it. so for those of us in the uk, we're gonna have to order it online or something since we can't actually buy it in the shops >< thats really annoying actually. so with that in mind, i'm gonna follow princess mark's advice and go for the tresemme or however you spell it since thats the next best option i have XD
