Death Note Cosplay
I am planning a Misa outfit =]
I just have a few questions... Considering it's my first cosplay.
I think I can figure out a wig or something as a hairdresser is within my family ;]

But for the outfit-dress, alot have PVC or something of the sort. What do you think would be better? Another material? Or stick with PVC?
I have the boots =] Boots are important lol

my personal opinion on PVC is to NOT use it unless you simpley cannot avoide it. like if the dress/garment is shiny in the refernce.
If you're strapped for cash, poly cotton is always a good fabric to use, it's cheap and you can use it for everything. ^^ the only thing it's bad at is keeping a shape without help.
the best thing to do is to take your picture and go to the fabric shops matching colours and fabrics and thinking technicaly about how you was the dress/garment to sit when it's on. obviously the thicker fabrics will hold a better shape. or you can ask the people in the shop if you have no idea what i'm talking about. >< they're helpful. ^^

If it's your first cosplay, I wouldn't recommend pvc. I hate the stuff! If you do want to go for it, I've been told a teflon foot for your sewing machine is a good thing to pick up, and talcum powder will also help stop it slipping. But it's a bitch as far as I'm concerned

She's got a few outfits so I'm sure you've got a few options. From what I remember it's fairly gothy, so you'll probably be looking at things like black velvet, black lace, or maybe dress leather, (would probably do instead of pvc).

And yes, boots are very important
