Nostalgia material!
For ages I'd been wondering what the show I used to watch every Saturday morning as a kid was that had Ant and Dec in it, and only tonight I had the intelligence to look it up on wikipedia. The name of the show was SMTV Live - Saturday Morning Television. Way to make me feel stupid, internet
I watched a couple of clips from it on Youtube and holy crap, it's like my entire childhood is happening again. Does anyone else remember this show? I used to watch it pretty religiously every weekend XD but I don't remember too much about it. Brb, youtubing to catch up.

Let's have a general nostalgia-type thread. What TV shows/games/books/etc did you guys watch/read/play/etc when you were kids? Do you still watch them now? If not, take a quick gander at them and see if they're as awesome as you remember (SMTV definitely is. I watched a pokéfight and had tears rolling down my face by the end of it XD). <3

Oh man, I loved SMTV Live! Part of me only watched it for the Pokemon XDDD

Every afternoon (or Wednesday afternoon I forget) I'd sit down and watch Digimon on CITV XD I remember the episode where Gabumon and Augmon warp-digivolved, because my brother (who had watched it with me) wasn't there and I was taping it for him and thinking "THIS IS EPIC"

then I found I had taped the wrong thing. OTL

I remember CITV during the weekdays. I'd rush home from school on me bike each day humming the tune from CardCaptors only just making it to catch the begining of each episode. XD

I also recall when Pokemon 1st came out on British TV, twas EPIC! Who'd have thought so many years later and it's still going! XD

I remember SMTV, Big Breakfast was pretty good too- I'd say I was mainly into my cartoons as a kid. So, Invader Zim, Ren and Stimpy, Mighty Max, Bucky O'Hare, Earthworm Jim ,pirates of Darkwater, Rocko's Modern Life, The Tick - still really good, Thunder Cats, Animals of Farthing Wood, Samurai pizza Cats, the old Spiderman, X-Men and Batman and yes pokemon when it first came out.... Gah, too many to name.

edit - ANIMANIACS! pinky and the brain was awesome.

Oh man I'm jealous of you guys XD I don't think we had lots of channels when I was a kid... I could only ever watch Cartoon Network when I went to Ireland on family holidays once a year, fml. But I still remember watching the first ever episode of Pokemon! 8D

And the Digimon theme song is still just the legenday childhood song of AWESOME. Search your hearts, you know it's true XD

Speaking of theme songs, I missed DRAGON BALL Z!!!! Can't believe I forgot DBZ *hangs head in shame* HA! I forgot the digimon theme but I just looked it up and you're right, was awesome.... did anyone watch Monster Rancher? Loved that show too.

I remember SMTV too! Those were the days where it was worth getting up early at weekends!

Favourite shows included Pokemon, Digimon, Cardcaptors, Mushrambo, DBZ, Beyblade, Dexter's lab, Pinky and the Brain, Recess, Zzzap, Fun house, Noel's house party, Gladiators (Whose afraid of the Big bad wolf?), Ripley's believe it or not (yes I was a kid when I started watching it ), Animaniacs, Heathcliff, Ed, Edd n' Eddy...I could go on forever! And Wallace and Gromit!!!!

As for films one of my favourites was the Sword in the Stone. I decided all of a sudden to watch it late last night :3 Remided myself why I loved the film so much and a couple days before I was watching Scruffy (1980). One of the saddest films of all time ;_; Oh, lets not forget George of the Jungle XD

I adored The Lion King, Robin Hood, Mulan, Snow White, Hercules and Cinderella. Basically the Disney classics ^^

I remember playing on the the early LoZ games (I think it was) in my room in the dark once and fell into a hole then this SCARY face popped up and I remember running across the room turning the TV off XD The first playstation game I had was Crash team racing XD I adored that alot!

I do like looking back at my childhood favourites sometimes. I can quite happily spend a few hours or a few days marathoning through shows/films I used to watch. Last month I watched a bit of Pokemon (where Ash met Richie) and watched some of Dexter's lab.

Aaaa, I still love Disney movies like there's no tomorrow. Sleeping Beauty's still my all-time favourite, Swan Princess is a close second though (and I still can't believe I haven't seen Thumbelina yet! What is wrong with me?!)

Ahh this thread is amazing XD Although it does make me feel old. That and I read earlier that I've technically now lived during 4 decades (80s, 90s, 00s and 10s) and I'm only 21 O.o *flails*

I remember going to see Pocahontas at the Cinema, I think that was 1995? XD Used to watch Bucky O'Hare, Biker Mice from Mars, Animals of Farthing Wood (seriously loved this...have all the magazines and figurines somewhere in the loft lol), Pingu, Earthworm Jim...

I remember watching pokémon with my brother when it came out, I actually have the poké-rap embedded into my brain XD lol That spawned a crazy obcession for Pokémon, got my gameboy color in turquoise and pokémon blue that Christmas, my Brother got Red so we could trade, started collecting the cards and it got neccessary at school to have an official Pokémon card trading day (every friday) So fun! I still have all my shinys X3

I vaguely remember watching bits of Dragonall Z when it was on tv over here, again, when my brother was watching it, I used to lol at Vegeta and Freezas funneh voice XD Little did I know I'd get into a swirling obcession later on... XD

Ummmm Games wise, LoZ Links awakening was one of the first games I played, on the good old Game Boy Brick That and random games on the NES...Diablo 2 was my first proper addiction...still is XD Been playing properly since I was about 12 I think. It's an amazing game. I nearly died when I heard about Diablo 3 XD

Oh and SMTV was so amazing, my saturday mornings were made way better by that show

I would make sure I got back from school as QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, just to make sure I could watch Dragonball Z and Tenchi Muyo, on Cartoon Network. And then ... there was Beyblade.

Oh God, that liked shaped my entire love for anime/manga/etc.. I would watch the Beyblade marathons, I would spaz over my favourite teams winning ... and I made sure to get up early SUNDAY morning to watch the last episode of Beyblade G Revolution, on Five. Milkshake, I think it was called?

But aside from that sort of thing, watching the classic Disney movies always makes me feel nostalgic.

I used to ride my bike home to the point where I would almost risk my life every day to get back for CITV and Cardcaptors & Digimon xDD

Going even WAAAAAY further back than that though - Bucky O'Hare, Animals of Farthing Wood are all time favourites of mine. Captain Planet, The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors!

Another was T-Rex - now , I know this existed as I have another friend of mine who can confirm that she also watched it as a child. To date NO ONE ELSE has ever recalled such a show! - Anyone remember it? It was animated and about these dinosaurs who owned a jazz club / then doubled over as like power ranger type heroes when stuff went wrong...There was a pink, purple, blue , ornage and a green one I think.... :/ !!

I REMEMBER THAT SHOW!! IT WAS AWESOME! - sorry you reminded me of it and I got excited, The adventures of T-Rex. They drove around in a ghost busters style car and the bad guy looks like a gremlin with a massively disproportionate head. It was on really early in the morning on ... sky1 maybe. You've reminded me of some more good ones now - ever watch Cadillacs and Dinosaurs : P Then there's one I can't remember the name of where they are dinosaurs - I think - and they have band related powers like one had sonic scream ... trying to find it now. Bah, no luck, can't remember much about it -_-

I remember I used to be late for school. I used the excuse I slept in. In reality I was watching Sailor Moon and Digimon in the morning. And the original Rock the Dragon DBZ theme... when you are like 9... that's the most amazing thing ever.
I feel old already. XD

AHHH I SUDDENLY REMEMBERED ANOTHER THING it was back when the first? not sure which one it was... pokemon movie came out (all I remember of it now was that Ash got turned to stone ;_; ) and I went with my best friend and her two brothers to see it - we were reaaaaaaaally young. And they were giving out pokemon cards at the cinema, which was awesome! Everyone else in the group that I was with got the same card, and I think it was pretty generic, but I got SHINY PIKACHU 8DDD

...I came home about two weeks later to find it ripped up and thrown around my room. Turns out my god-brother had come to stay, and because he was 4 years younger than me, didn't know what was right or wrong.
......Fml. D:
