Okay so we all know how annoying and bloody expensive it is to stay at the hotel Ibis thats next to excel centre (annoying because every other night apart from the MCM its only £52 a night MCM=£92aprox. a night -.-)

Now I found a hotel just down the road which is right by a DLR station making it only a 10min DLR ride to the excel centre, this hotel is much cheaper (around £65 a night) However due to my stupid paydays (I get paid every 4 weeks so sometimes its at the beginning at the month, sometimes at the end ect.) I wont have any spending money if I stay in the hotel (and I want spending money ) So I was wondering if there was anyone who hadn't got a place to stay yet and that doesn't mind possibly halving the cost with me (I wanted to stay 3 nights, Fri,Sat&Sun which comes to £192 so only £96 for 3 nights) and sharing the room. I know I'm a complete stranger but I really don't want to have to stay with my aunt in Peckham again with the hour long trip to get to the Excel centre -.-''

Hey, have you tried london city airport ETAP? its considerably cheaper and a 5-10 minute walk away from excel. I am staying there, i would offer a room share but our room is already full

Unfortunatly my room is already full otherwise I'd offer.

However, London City Airport Travel Lodge is alot cheaper, but you have to be sneaky about booking the rooms. You can only get the 'saver' rate if you book one room at a time, so if you do that you can get 3 nights for £97 (£29 Friday, £45.50 Saturday and £22.50 Sunday). That's for a room which is booked for 3 people although I'm sure you can sneak another person in there XD Just split the £97 3 or 4 ways and it works out to be rather cheap XD That's where I'm planning on going anyway!

It's only 0.25miles from Excel which is only a short walk too :3 and I think full buffet breakfast is £6 per person per day, although we're probably just going to buy bread, croissants and stuff to make it cheaper XD

I was so annoyed when I saw I got paid the week after -.-'' but hopefully I'll be able to find a nice cheap room there, do you know if its easy to get to from Waterloo? Or am I gonna have to lug a 5ft3 paintbrush all over London? XD

MCM isn't too hard to get to from waterloo, but usually there are works on the Jubilee or DLR which make the journey there and back a bit of a pain in the azz. You just Get Jubilee line to Canning town and then change to get on teh DLR going to Custom House for excel! It is a loong journey though, I mean I go from Richmond normally and it usually takes the best part of two hours getting there >.> Hense our decision to get a hotel this time XD cannot be bothered with dealing with the london underground!

If you can find someone to share costs with you it helps immensely, try the mcm forums if you haven't already, there's usually quite a few posts from people needing room buddies!

the Etap hotel is actually awesome. £45 pound a night. Freeview. Smoking rooms if needed. BUNKBEDS! And a lime green room.

And its really close. I walked to and from dressed as Big Sister, its literally a 5/10 min walk. Worth a look.

i had a room at custom house right by excel which im staying for like a week =w= id offer you a space in it as its like 50 quid a night so for the 3 nights i can offer you 75 for the hotel, i already paid for it myself, just wanted to offer a space if anyone wanted it
