Spambot? Of which I have no doubt! XD not spambot, i just have a question, how did they do it? (i want something similar with my pics) and why rude?, im not a bot Because I don't know if you're actually this dimwitted or not, I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt. That is a porn site, which is rude and shouldn't be put on here. There are so many different pictures you could of used to show what you meant, even just saying "hey, how do you take a photograph of someone and change the background so it's computerized/artifical in some way?" people would of known what you meant. And the fact that you used a site that didn't really have that much done to it, does not help anyones opinions. It screams of spambot. And to change backgrounds, all you need to do is extract the image you want to keep then add the background. Most editing programs (I used Adobe Photoshop) have extract - which is down one of the dropdown bits - where you draw a line around what you want to keep then use the fill tool to select what you want to keep. Then there is no background and you can add your own. This takes a long time, and the long you take the better quality the edit is. If your background is plain, you can actually use a background eraser that gets rid of all of it - but again, only if it's one colour. |

I can make one image in photoshop, but can't do it with 3-4 images, if different poses/angles (my photoshop background wont match, and it'll looks lame I think its some kind of 3d-thingy, (one of my friends said 3dmax, which i dont have a clue about ty for the answers, i'll keep looking for a solution Last edited by horsewithname (12 Jun 2010 - 18:53) |

1)Old and slow pathing and replacing over CG w/ lighting. 2)If it is 3D, then there's a simple "technical" way of doing it which I'm not sure is feasible in photographic terms. You have a decent green screen with a full lighting rig lit on infinite drop. You also need a virtual studio and a "rig" which detects the movement of the camera. The background is synced to a pre-rendered 3d environment made via 3dsmax. As the camera moves, the 3d environment is matched up and you can do practically anything. This is then followed by post production rotoscoping and chromakeying to get rid of the green screen. Given some of the poses, this would probably take a lot of man hours anyways. You'd need something like this: http://i45.tinypic.com/6zq735.jpg (It's just a bit expensive. Just a bit.) Either way, too much effor for a terrible effect. Last edited by Chi (14 Jun 2010 - 00:26) |

That's not "semi-nude", man! Anyway, 3ds Max is probably a good place to start. You can also do it on AutoCAD. Most people use both, they start the model on CAD and then import it to 3ds to model further and then do the rendering. So what you're going to need are: cosplay photos, the softwares, a computer that can cope with the softwares, knowledge on how to use the softwares. You can probably start with one of those "for dummies" guides. |

| horsewithname Joined: 11 Jun 2010 Posts: 5 | thank you everybody, sorry again for the nude thingy (i just didnt find something like these anywhere else) seems to me the process is a bit "expensive", but at least I can start lookin' into 3dmax and other things, thanks to your advice! Or I'll just give up, and will try to find a nice outdoor location for my cosplay (which is a hard thing if I need a spacehsip, haha, but oh well...) ty, have a nice day all edit: ohh forgot something, maybe a stupid question, but why the background needs to be green? O.o What if my clothes are green? Last edited by horsewithname (14 Jun 2010 - 16:15) |

The process simply involves removing that shade of luminecence from the image. It's horribly expensive to set up something which tracks in that kinda system but a normal decently lit small greenscreen should be fine. The harder bit is rotoscoping a person out of it with moving footage.
(Basically like the photoshop method of removing a background but for every 3 frames of 24fps footage). Image related: what tracked RED footage looks like after being chromakeyed and rotoscoped. http://i50.tinypic.com/20pdiqq.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/xdruqv.jpg For photography, just do the old photoshop method. Learning 3dsmax to a decent level with lighting technique / UV mapping is a total time dump. There's a plugin called Boujou which lets you do virtual tracking to a high level but that's pretty hard to learn too. Last edited by Chi (14 Jun 2010 - 16:56) |

| horsewithname Joined: 11 Jun 2010 Posts: 5 | hmm just found an interesting article about this, theres also a link to us "-- If You look closely, this is definetly NOT green background, although the guys on Cosplayisland may be right about the camera handling, as there are big crosses in the set - probably for the special camera, to record angles/distance. (As a hobby-photographer, I think they can't use green - green is good for movies, but looks ugly in photos, your skin will looks like a frog's...)" nothing nude in it, i was careful!!! main point: looks like they are using GREY instead of GREEN. Weird. http://cosplayerotica.blogspot.com/2010/06/cosplayerotica-backgrounds-how-did-they.html Also I did just found this software for 3d backgrounds: http://www.daz3d.com/i/software/studio The software free, so time for me to start epxperimenting! |

The traditional chromakey technology ("greenbox" as most people knows it) has nothing to do with still images/photography. You can easily cutout green backdrops from a clip, just like Chi told us above, he was right. ... but! Try to do this with a photo: You can cutout the green from a photo, yes... but just like the guy says in the blog: the end result will be horrible. You will have green artifacts on the hair, the skin will looks like a dead body from the river... eyeballs will be yellow-ish... and self-shadows on the model (especially soft, portrait shadows) will looks horrible. Movie cameras, and especially movie lights are far more "forgiving", but photography flash-lights dont't lie: if there is a green background, You will end up with a lot of green light reflected onto your model. (same goes with red, blue, and so on.) Thats why every photographer using white/grey backdrops usually. And no.. you can't just "remove the green" in Photoshop without damaging the original image. So to keep it short: movie techniques/lights/ and photography techniques/lights are two very (!) different things, don't confuse them! Interesting topic anyways. |
