On the Saturday of May Expo a BBC news crew came along to chat to our cosplayers and get the lowdown on EuroCosplay.

A whole bunch of you probably had a chat to them while you where waiting in the masquerade que.

A segment on the cosplay was included this morning and should be repeated on the BBC news channel at 17:45.

That's a nice article, really positive. I'm glad they have the opinions of other cosplayers, that haven't been bastardised in someway, like in the news paper article posted a while back.

I thought it might have been a really small segment about the expo itself but they did try to explain cosplay pretty well.

I showed this to my mum and she still doesn't understand why I cosplay =[

i really hope that idiot reporter sees this, and realises she could have been on the cutting edge of promoting the hobby, rather than making people sound like freaks and misfits.

i've always liked the way BBC tackles culture. they see the good in things and hit it from an unbiased angle.

I swear there was another thread about this which I replied to last night, which has now disappeared. XD

Anyway, agreeing with everyone, it's a lovely report. Particularly like the way they showed the reference drawing of how some of the characters look like, it helps to show the good work of the cosplayers.

That's probably the most positive media coverage I've ever seen for cosplay, it makes a nice change! The interview with the originator of the term was interesting as well.

Glad to see the positive side to cosplay in the media for once Least they explained it fairly and made it sound like a creative and fun hobby, unlike what I have seen previously this year *angrily stares the the report from a few months back*

I thought the piece was extremely positive and very informative ^_^ I enjoyed it and it made me smile to know that the BBC promoted rather than discredited cosplay as others have recently attempted!

your approach was highly appreciated, and i'm sure you will be more than welcome to come back to any events held in the community. after the way we were recently treated by reporters from a certain source, you've done a lot to put faith in the media back into the community.

One of the most positive reviews of the anime, manga and cosplay events I've ever seen. It's a welcome breath to have a realistic mention to events like these!

And a thank you ever so much for featuring me (the gentleman at the very end with the white face / tall hat) in the broadcast, it was an honour to be chosen as the closing image!
