Okay, so it's yet another "Help me with this wig" thread xD;;



I'm cosplaying as Shin!Akira (the one with black hair). I'm pretty sure I'll be able to find a wig for him (even though the long fringe might be a problem), I'm just having trouble with how to style it!

As you can see, there are random crazy strands curling at odd angles. It's just so confusing >.< I've spiked a wig before, but this seems different somehow. Could someone give me some suggestions? I would love you forever

the problem with manga hair is that it's so..... manga-y. >w< loads of wisps and stuff.
the problem with wigs is that they're difficult to style so they look natural (ie: hair gel doesn't. ><

that wig is pretty good though! the fronts a good legth but you'd have to do alot of chopping at the back to get the sticky outy look.

unless you cut it to the right length and gelled the under side to stick out.

Looks like an L-style wig would suit your cosplay rather well. If you get a nice one, you don't even have to style it. L-wigs are pretty easy to get a hold of now that Death Note is such a damn popular cosplay, but if you still can't find it I reccomend this commissioner: http://www.jemmawigs.com/

Bog standard, Art Attack style pva glue works well for random spikes and sticky-up bits. You can also use thin jewellery wire sewn into wigs for it or I know there's wig styling glue, which you can get here: http://www.pettingzoowigs.com/wigsupplies_products.html Or find out what it is and look for it elsewhere. Extra hairspray, maybe?

Not that I'm an expert or anything seeing as I've styled a grand total of 1 wig so far...

You know, sometimes the most complex looking things can be solved with a simple solution.

In this wig's case I have but one word to offer as advice...

HAIRSPRAY!

Seriously, there is *no* better stylant (new word!) for cosplay wigs than a reaallllly strong, good, hairspray.

It's my favourite Wig Spiking Tutorial and the same sort of advice can be applied to the curls and flicks in the hair too.

I'm hoping to put my own picture tutorial for Wig Spiking in NEO soon (once I start working on my own that is) so hopefully that should be out next month (July) to help you out as well.
