Okay so... the whole backless bra idea for my bayonetta costume that some of you helped me with went OUT THE WINDOW!!! I could not find one to fit So Im afraid that the catsuit will have to remain as it is, and not be backless, because it just wouldnt work. But now i have another problem!!

Today i went out and i bought a suitable bra for the costume, something black, so if it shows it wouldnt matter! So after hours of trawling the shops i finally found a plunged, black, plain 32FF Bra... HOORAY!!! ... or so i thought. I got it home, put on the catsuit.. and am now greeted with this issue...



The Cut out Circle int he front... is no longer a circle.. as half the bra bloody hangs out!!! And i trim the bra... becuase.. well its too close for comfort anyway... and... a slip would just be horrificly embarassing!! Am i just being too picky.. and does this look alright. Because the perfectionist in me is saying NO NO NO its the wrong shape!!!!!!! it needs to be circluar... but everyone i have asked. said it looks fine... Opinions please!!!

I've been following your Bayonetta with interest, it's looking srsly amazing so far. Possibly weird question, but since we're on the subject of boobs it's difficult not to be... is it possible to do it without a bra? Or wear one of those adhesive bra's? Or cut into the bra you bought so that it follows the shape of the circle? If that makes sense. ^^;

Would it be possible to stick down the bra once cut? If you could make sure there's no chance of slipping out with either double sided tape or prosthetic glue then you could cut it to the shape of the body suit without worrying about it.

Aww thanks, i'm glad you like it. As for NO bra at all... I'm afraid thats just not an option. I have tried.. With me being the size i am, and the catsuit being the.. shape it is.. it just doesnt work. I kept falling out, even with tape! the catsuit just doesnt stay in place enough! I couldnt find a stick on bra to fit me! And Cutting the bra... is what i issumed i'd do.. but lets just say if i did that... it would be a bit more than cleavage that i would be showing... >__<

you'd need the glue and the remover. make sure the glue is given time to dry before putting anything over the top, or it'll seep and mess up material.

it might also be worth giving the inside of the bra cups a layer or two of latex for something the glue can grip to.

Id love to do that... sounds like an amazing idea... but i cant cut the bra im afraid

Could you cover the bra with material that matches your skin colour? Or perhaps buy a nude bra instead?

Hmm, only bra I can think of that wouldn't show under something that low would be a shelf bra. However I don't think you'd get one that covered your whole bust, it would possibly just give you support, so you'd need to buy tape to stick the cat suit down to the rest of your bust so that it doesn't slip and show something by accident.

Orrrr...depending on time frame and costs, you could get some for of clear latex or pvc and fashion a semi clear bra? Sort of cut away the bit of bra that sticks out and replace it with clear pvc/latex or something? Then add some skin tape to stick it to the catsuit? So that way you still have a full bra, but its see through where it peeks out. Or do something similar with flesh coloured material?

Your cat suit looks quite low cut, but thats probably because you're bigger busted (I've had the exact same problem when trying to do a catsuit as I'm large busted as well.) so you probably will have to do some sticking to keep it nice and flat against your body. Bayonetta oddly enough doesn't look very large busted, but thats because shes so gigantic! (I think she's like 7'0? xD)

You could probably get a clear latex bra made by a custom latex shop actually, though it'd be costly. We're talking at least £100 for good, well made, custom fit latex clothing. (Edit: was around £100 last I checked)

I think it looks ok hun. I have the same problem when it comes to bras aswell!!!! I feel your pain I really do.

But it looks ok to me, I dont know the design at all, but if there is a pattern on the front why dont you just paint it onto the bar so it looks like more of the outfit? Would save you cutting the bar and it wouldnt look so out of place.

In one of your progress pictures, you've got the suit on but no bra show? But it looks like you have a white bra on?
Could you not just buy a black bra in the same style? or if necessary, cover the bits that show?

As for the backless issue, you can get some bras with a clear strap across the back. I got one really cheap from primark. If you couldn't find the bra in the right style, or in your size, then if you bought one like that, you could take the back strap off the bra of the same back size and sew it onto the one that's the right style/size. It goes all the way across the back, not just across part of it.

Ok so it isn't exactly like the artwork. tbh I think the circle cutout on your catsuit is bigger than the artwork, that's prob why you can't go braless with out falling out. (Put that down to streatchiness of lycra.)
In my view your black bra sits very happy in that neckline. And I think most people will think that's how the costume should look. In any case it sounds like that bra is a must now. ^_^

Sometimes we have to make compromises with our costumes.. I wouldn't worry. As long as you have fun and feel Bayonetta-y on the day. That's the most important thing. ^_^

I think it looks fine as it is, to make it look like it should be there, you could always put some gold chains on it ? I'm still so impressed you've made this and can't wait to see you on the day

i thought i'd hold off on suggesting this until i'd actually received it so i can say if its any good or not,

i've recently bought this bra in black for my Morrigan costume


(which you ban buy for a bargain price of £8 Here i might add!!)

and trying it on today i have to say its fantastic, i'm a size 30DD and went for a size C although its a bit big around the ribcage it holds me perfectly, although the other sizes only come in white it shouldnt be a problem to dye with a spray ink or something.

also for the issue you have with the low back you can buy something like this which might help

otherwise if you have a bit of cash to spend then la senza aell this for £22

Wow thanks for all your help guys!! Havent checked this in a while i had no idea people had been so helpful!! I'm still notsure what exactly i'll do.. to b honest i think i'll probably leave the backless issue.. and just keep it with the back in tact... id hate to change it now.. and for it to go wrong! ive put in way too much time and mone for a last second EPIC FAIL!!! lol. I wish i would get paid!!! i dont get pad until a few days before expo.. and i think by then i wont have any time at all to get another bra! so i'm thinking ill just get LOADS of boob tape.. and see how that goes! The circle was the right size! but from me constantly having to get in on and off and on and off... it has just got bigger and bigger and bigger... as well as my boobs going up another size, i think i will just have to compromise!!

I find double sided sticky tape works well. I haven't actually -used- boob tape before but a few of my friends have had problems with it.

Do a test run first and see how well it sticks to the material though! Can't wait to see this at expo ^^ Looks brilliant
