Best place to buy turkey feathers in UK?
I'm looking for a cheaper place to order a huge batch of turkey feathers (the current place to beat is rainbow feathers co at a hefty £119 thanks to shipping, naturally I want to find somewhere closer to home.

Anyone ever ordered and know of a place to get feathers in large quantities?

you could try seeing if there is a local turkey farm in the area. then it would just be a matter of contacting them and asking if you could buy some turkey feathers....

(some might even let you come and collect them yourself for nothing....)

I bought 250 white turkey feathers very reasonably from Ostriches Online, although they're out of stock at the moment.

@ sillabub

cheers that site is promising! (shame on it being out of stock though, wanted to order asap)

when they sent you feathers, did they send them mixed or seperated into left and right wing? (if not seperated, did you get an even ammount?)

yeaa i was wondering the same thing, because im doing a costume with wings and i need equal amounts of left and right feathers!

They send them mixed, but getting equal amounts is VERY unlikely! It was fantastic for my Angeal wing as we needed them all going one way anyway, but for Uriel's pair of wings, we had to trim the feathers so that while some curved one way, they looked like they curved the other way.

It's tricky, but it's doable!

What tips would you like Reiss? And I assume you mean wings rather than wigs? LMAO What kind of wings are we talking?

That's not back at all O_O Impressive actually LMAO I'd also suggest trying to find some trim in the same colour and a few feather boas hacked to pieces for around the edges and for the downy part at the top of the wings always looks good ^_^

I know this is an old thread but could anyone tell me approx how many feathers (or pounds of feathers) the average wing takes?

It would be for this: http://www.cosplayisland.co.uk/costume/view/42762

Thanks!
