Sourcing Higher Quality Fabric?
Well, as the title suggests, I'm wondering if anyone knows any good places with higher quality fabric?
Here in Hull we only have Boyes... (Well actually, we have 4 of them >_< and I know they sell standard stuff like Polycotton but I just wondered if there was nicer things out there, that I could order off the interwebs or not have to travel too far to get to. (Especially lace. If anyone knows where to get high quality lace please help :3)

Basically because, I'm wanting to start making some accessories as a hobby and possibly sell them on. The prototypes I've made up look good, but I can't help thinking there's nicer base material out there to use, and it would make them all a lot prettier!

Thanks in advance guys

Hi there, untill the collapse of the world markets last year I was a full time dealer in natural fibre textiles. I still have some residual stock, and contacts who were my old suppliers.
You can look up my history on the internet by googling Pettychapman. If you think I can be of use, get in contact. I also did a fair old trade in costume books and full size patterns, all historical stuff, but usefull anyway perhaps. I still have residual stock of these as well.

There's also http://www.efabrics.co.uk/ but fabric land generally has better quality material.

There's also http://www.fabricuk.com, but i've only ever ordered cotton drill from there. they have a wide variation and they do offer swatches and if you go on to buy the material, the cost you paid for the swatch gets taken off the cost of your material (which i thought was pretty generous)

Although they are mainly based up North I understand they can deliver.

They have a good range of fabrics. They are cheap. Pretty much the only fabric shop I go to now.

Having checked out FabricLand in Southampton I would say that they are very similar.

There's http://www.macculloch-wallis.co.uk/Category.aspx/Fabrics too if you want the super expensive stuff

Lost as in a dream I seek the shadow Of one who has Swirled away... Abandoning friends, Abandoning humanity.
What awaits us all Is the path to emptiness. Knowing my heart The flowers weep, And the wild birds cry.
