This is according to my friends ... apparently I go for the chibi uke characters. I mean Sora, Demyx, Rin, Zexion and then I cosplay people like Cloud and I want to cosplay Replica Riku. Now I also seem to want to do alot of Ginjka cosplay as well. So yeah I would have said I cosplay whoever I feel like ^^

I have 2 trends when I cosplay characters - Either they are main characters of games/animes (Siegfried, Terry, Ryu, Cruz), or they are the not-so serious characters with all bark and no bite (Wario, Dan Hibiki).

The simple and somewhat obvious approach is that I cosplay the characters I like, wether or not I get recognised as those characters. It also helps if groups become organised, so I know where I can fit myself in and join in on the fun with others!

My trend would be.... Men. MANLY MEN. *flex*

That or something incredibly disturbing like Horaemon or Death Bus L hahaha. I'm starting to cosplay a few women but they seem to be of the pvc variety so I will add that to the list of "incredibly disturbing"!

More by accident than by design, I've always seemed to mainly go for lesser-known or less commonly cosplayed characters. I choose who I'm going to cosplay based on how much I love the series/character/character design, so how things have ended up that way, I have no idea!

One trend that is rather more deliberate is that I've started going for older female characters who kick ass - done Sephiria in the past, working on Teresa right now, got Madam Red and Beatrice on the "to do" list. This is entirely down to my advancing years - it'll not be too long before I *really* can't get away with cosplaying younger girls anymore but I don't want to give up the hobby altogether just yet.

Oh, and I've now made six costumes based on fighting game characters and have a seventh in the works, so that seems to be a trend too XD

Cara bell', cara mia bella, mia bambina, o ciel!

Hmmm I don't think I have a massive trend. I suppose cosplaying strong female characters or strong minded characters is mine?

yeee i first started out and i picked the girly ones... until i discovered crossplay lmao... now i seem to pick costumes totally unintentionally that have one of the same attributes... either something to do with the colour red, or a totally insane/pervy guy character.... i swear my friends are a bad influence on me
and yesss neko sora u are our lil uke cosplayer!

My trend goes to movie cosplays ... it is so funny that I started with Anime cosplays and after cosplaying Hermione Granger I really prefer movie characters and "real" persons I am able to cosplay ... I think I will have more movie character cosplays than manga character cosplays soon

I've noticed a few un-intentional trends which have cropped up with mine.
I usually just go for the characters that I like the most.

Including a couple of planned / in-progress cosplays:

- Crossplays

- Characters voiced by Miyano Mamoru
( Light Yagami / Tamaki Suou / Ling Yao / Zero Kiryuu )

- Loveable-idiot types
( Tamaki Suou / Fai D. Flourite / Ling Yao / Icchan / Sosuke Sagara )

- School uniforms

- Characters voiced by Vic Mignogna
( Tamaki Suou / Fai D. Flourite )

- Vampires
( Fai D. Flourite / Zero Kiryuu )

- Death Note characters

I'd say that I don't really have any strong trends - I'd get bored cosplaying the same type of character all the time. I think I've gotten a decent balance of male/female costumes in recent times (before it was mainly crossplay XD) because believe it or not, I can be quite a girly person. Sometimes I want a nice girly outfit too. O.O So it's an eclectic mix I have - from Vegeta to Quistis, from Usopp to Hunny-senpai ... it really is strange. XD

I try not to cosplay the same types of characters either, though usually it's just characters I like, simple as that.

Although people who actually know the manga-ka, I guess you could say I cosplay a looot of Arina Tanemura characters LOL. (6 of my costumes are from this manga-ka! And 1 more soon to be complete, and plenty planned!) Yeaaaah xD;;;

One physical trend is that I always try to cosplay characters that have hair/stuff to shape their face - because I have a wide face in my opinion XD - my little trick right there!

I think I have a recent obsession with brightly coloured wigs too... I think that applies to a lot of cosplayers though! xD

preferably i love and would love to cosplay more retro anime character

gene starwind from outlaw star
van from escaflowne
tylor from irresponsable captain tylor
and gohan from dragonballz

otherwise from that i usually go for characters i like and suit me most, so usually characters who are loud, confident, open , easy to get on with and quite plainly funny and loveable haha(i dont suit all of them at times haha)

ad then sometimes id like to cosplay characters that tbh are just plain darn fucking awsome

My trend is:

Oh no, I seem to have forgotten to wear any trousers...

I do crossplay (from Manri men to small boys), blondes and gingers. Characters who wear green. Spandex and tights; superheroes and villians. Kids cartoon characters. Scary or gory costumes. Obscure stuff. To be honest, my costumes are pretty random.

Peter Pan essentially sums up my main costume trends: A small, ginger boy wearing green, but has forgotten to put on any matching trousers and has, instead, substituted them with tights.

Much like Odangochan gets her magnificent boobs out, I get my legs out cos I like them best.

my trend is mostly the emoish chars like Sasuke, Roxas, Cloud and Byakuya, it's not intentional I just seem to like em more, though I am getting my naruto cosplay back I bought for a friend so I will have 1 hyper cosplay. As for planned cosplays my next 1 is Ulquiorra so that follows the trend too

it's funny that I'm actually more hyper and jumpy about in cosplay like you'd expect Naruto to be, where as out of costume I'm more like Sasuke and stuff

Jesus can walk on water, but then again so can everyone in naruto

your never to old to play dress up, I mean cosplay
25 Apr 2010 - 00:4830492
my trend is cute girls and skimpy cosplays

often both at the same time

13 Jul 2010 - 22:0136281
I remember discussing this exact issue just before Minamicon with some friends in the middle of superdrug! lol.

I do have a few things which I'm kinda known for in cosplay, namely Spandex (I am the Spandex King!!) and Bodypaint.

though also in terms of personalities I do tend to cosplay either epically emo characters or ecstatically happy characters (go figure!)

13 Jul 2010 - 22:1236282
Kick-Ass Females, I think, with the ones I have planned/in progress and ones I really want to do they are all females, (not that I could cosplay a male anyway, unless he had quite a large chest) and usually girls who kick-ass

16 Jul 2010 - 21:4036451
Misunderstood and people who aren't right in the head, from psycho killers to ego maniacs.

Gunji - Togainu no Chi
Russia - Hetalia
Prussia - Hetalia
Grell - Kuroshitsuji

They tend to be more fun to cosplay too, especially in character xD

17 Jul 2010 - 02:0136461
I tend to look to look as characters slip into either 2 catagories size or over the top personality.

Franky - One Piece
Bobobo - Bobobo-bo-bo-bobo
Alex Louis Armstrong - Full Metal Alchemist
Nappa -Dragonball Z (Abridged)
General Sokaro Winters - D Grayman

Sometimes because of my height it is a pain finding a character that doesn't really suit my size/ height, but sometimes u say to hell with it.

We give thanks to this tasy meal.

I'm similar to Odangochan. I tend to go for bitchy and sometimes whorish women.

I like to cosplay strong, dominating type women, it seems my facial structure and the way I stand in cosplay pulls it off well. I can also pull a really stern face and not look like a moron.

every now and then though, theres a character that I just love so much that I'll cosplay her. Rena from Higurashi is one at the moment who doesn't really fit into my usual style but I love her so much. Wapiko from goldfish warning was another.
Another example of a character that doesnt fit with what I usually do is Sailor Saturn, but I will cosplay her someday because shes awesome, and purple is the best colour ever!

I'm also a sucker for patterned fabric.

Villains. As of late, extremely ghey villains.
I mean, Princess Kraehe, Marluxia, Medusa, Jasdero, the Moon Eye Plan (... which is the plan of a villain), Kuja and currently working on Emperor Mateus.

... With plans to do Trance Kuja, Jihl Nabaat and Helga von Vogelweide.

I think the only good guy cosplay I've ever done is Quistis. Huh.

It must not be denied but I am a plain dealing villain.
17 Jul 2010 - 22:4736499
Blondes at the moment, since i have blonde hair - so naturally lighter wigs suit me better. I feel so strange in dark wigs

17 Jul 2010 - 22:5936501
I'm a big sucker for big, tough boots, and I blame Lara Croft for that. The ties that I wear and pigtails, Miku Hatsune and the clothes...I dunno, emo.

So, in other words, strong, female leading characters. ^^
