Well I just read the post, and although the updates sound great, really good ideas and things, especially for those who get the premium membership.

However the mention of phasing out free membership really upsets me ^^; I don't want to seem naggy or anything, but £5 a month may not seem like much but certainly for some people it just can't be paid - I'm a student, believe me a fiver a month is a lot (£60 a year just to show my cosplay photos?).

Its sad cos I do love this site, the people are so nice and it is a really friendly atmosphere unlike some other cosplay websites. But if in the next 6 months it means no more free membership I'm afraid I'm gonna have to say 'bye-bye' to the Island.

Is there any reason why free accounts are being phased out all-together other than just to let the premium members have more room? Is there a possibility of having free accounts and premium accounts similar to something like Cosplaylab?

I entirely agree with what you're saying- £5 a month would be a large fee to pay, and I am a student myself and understand a lot of people won't be able to afford this amount of money.

I'm really disappointed in this site. I thought there was finally an easy to use, honest cosplay site that cared about it's users that I'd be happy enough to use. Ugh.. This is seriously bad news.

I'm going to give the game away a little early here in the forums and say yes of course this is a joke. Whether or not you like April's fool it's always an irresistible chance for site owners to have a little fun at our member's expense.

The reality is of course Kat and I don't run the site as a business, we don't make any money from this and we don't intend to charge you guys for using the site or sell your photos to anyone.

But I am glad we've had some of you going at least briefly. ^_^

Waa thank goodness! I was so worried! It was a well-played joke, and sounded very professional - even if I don't like April Fools (cos I always get tricked by them! >.<

Haha okay, this has had me giggling since I came home - didn't think we'd get anyone to fall for this, let alone several of you!

I'd just like to reiterate (as it seems some of you dont believe the ever trust-worthy Perrin!) the fact that Cosplay Island will always be free. (Unless somehow I end up as a hobo on the streets of London within the next few months and the hosting payments bounce )

P.S If anyone comes close to developing an automatic Photoshop filter, we'd be interested in hearing from you

The Photoshop filters had me thinking... wth filter photos?! I was thinking that a default filter would make a cosplay look ugly, and £5 for a filter was a rip off XD
