Ooh, this sounds good. Hurrah uniforms! I'd be interested in joining with more information on the group ^__^

Am I the only one who would get a bit offended by this? Tbh I wouldn't really enjoy cosplaying if I had someone come up to me and be all 'I'm from the cosplay police, and you've got a bad cosplay! give me your contact details kthx'

I know it's not meant to be rude or anything and it's supposed to be helpful, but I'd be pretty hurt to have someone come up to me and do this.

I agree with this. What kind of things are organised or is it just... criticism? I know a lot of people do things for jokes or whatever.

I've certainly done some AWFUL costumes for friends that were funny at the time, so I do not think telling people they are bad cosplayers is such a good idea. I'd be angry to hear of such a thing LOL.

However helping people out in cute uniforms sounds fun, so good luck with that!

I fail to see what's not rude about telling someone you think their costume is bad and you could do a better job.

"Our goal is to expand our numbers and acquire recognition through our efforts to improve the cosplay in the future."

So your goal isn't even to help people, it's to acquire more members to make some big elitist movement?

I agree with FreyaCrescent and Miiol; if some nerd came up to me dissing my cosplay when I'm just doing it for fun I'd punch them. Way to go for promoting elitism ;D

Agreed.

Just D: to this idea.

Hey there folks,

As you can probably see I have deleted two posts from this thread and locked it.

Edit: I would like to add one thing quickly actually.

I apologise to the thread author if this wasn't the intention of the thread. I wouldn't have deleted your posts...but I couldn't find the lock tool and so I thought it was my only option! D:

Feel free to leave the link in your signature, and anybody who is interested can feel free to follow up on the group at their own discretion but due to the reports and complaints I still feel creating a thread specifically to advertise and recruit isn't in the best interests of the CI Community. ^_^

While we want to encourage cosplay groups and help people make friends I don't think we want to encourage any sort of "Critique Groups" that focus on the negative.

Cosplay, to us here at Cosplay Island anyway, isn't about telling people what is wrong or bad about the costume. It's about fun and learning new skills. It's a hobby after all and not something which needs "policing".

If somebody wants advice they are free to come here and ask for it.

Some people have already replied that they don't like the idea of this group and we have also received reports that the actions of its members would cause offence or worse.

To help keep our community here at Cosplay Island positive and friendly, I thought it best to remove the posts and lock the thread.

I hope you all understand.

Best wishes
