Hey Luke, dunno if I've mentioned this before, as I'm pretty sure I've put it out there... but I've got quite a big JLA group organised for LFCC this year. Don't wanna tread on anyone's toes, just feel like I should speak up for my clan, lol. There's between 10 and 14 of us in total right now, a few of which (myself included) are members of the Heroes Alliance UK. We may be using the opportunity to raise a lil cash for the Make-a-Wish Foundation

Hey Ryan I feel you there and being a member of the HAUK myself I fully understand! This group is mainly for people that want a laid back anything goes sort of thing. I mean your group does not permit doubles whereas this is just a group photo gathering sort of thing im not to fussed about doubles. Tried on the thigh highs again today and it gave me some ideas how to improve the costume, not only for Catwoman but also for my Rain Mikamura pilot cos. (never been happy with the seam positions).
So I got all ispired again and did lots of design sketching. Plus I recently bought some special 'Lycra' needles for my sewing machine and I've been wanting to see how they perform like.

I'll stick the LFCC date for my Catwoman in progress.

I don't know if working out is gonna be better for you than it was for me, but in case it is the same I'd like to say - don't worry about shaping your real body into a superhuman shape. Couldn't you just use foam padding? I'd hate for you to tear a tendon or something working out with big weights.
In case you are wondering, I tried working out for a Silver Surfer cosplay.. I sweated and pumped iron for weeks. The results were ..not really impressive, :S and so Silver Surfer costume became the Space Babe for Memorabilia show.
Still, my shoulders are about the right size for comic female superheros now. ^_^

See I feel you there Foam padding...well dosent tend to look good nor would I have the skill to do it you end up looking like one of the joke shop costumes XD. Working out for me is good for two things, I know my own strength and pacing is essential. I have a big frame i.e broad shoulders and the like *its one of the reasons friends talked me into Superman* I have my pops who worked out constantly for a while so there's a free personal trainer XD im not going for ripped here just toned ^.-

P90X is apparently really good Ive heard a lot of good things about it and am looking forward to getting into it I will make double sure im very careful

Yeah I've seen those fancy dress muscle suits and I agree they look jokey.

Oh good, a personal trainer, that's very fortunate. Sounds like you will do brilliantly, cuz he can advise you about protein/carbs intake and all that too.


Just, you won't be able to do crossplays like Lust once you have beefed up.. We have to make choices I guess. Good luck with Supes my friend.
