Mine actually started from a roleplaying site. XD I'm a little shy about that fact really.
One of the characters I roleplay with I always call Dusk Nightingale, tried to think up a nickname for her and found that someone had made a typo or had done it on purpose on their page with spelling her name 'Duck' instead. Which is the reason for my nickname being Duck.

But the reason for my actual name, since I use it for basically everything I go on now is because of that character. I was trying to figure out a decent DA username that didn't make me sound sad. 'Dusk Nightingale' came to my mind and I guess I swirled the words around a bit. Taking Dusk, pushing the ingale out and then leaving the Night, moved the Dusk and the Night together and there we have it. DuskinNight didn't sound right and neither did anything else I came up with from her name. So I guess I was just taking words and seeing how they sounded. At just worked in my mind and it just stuck like that!

In a sense for me 'DuskatNight' is some sort of a Metaphor (Or something along those lines, I forget!) since it just sounded pretty and worked well so I went with it.

It has nothing to do with my real name as Alice sounds far to bland to put into anything and Dusk is one of my favourite names anyway!

i have recently been running a marathon on kingdom hearts 2, and decided i would do that with my name, anyone wanna guess what my real name is pm me, lol

my friends also know me as sephy, because of my coat and my attitude towards other people

Mines pretty basic and doesn't hvae any form of cute story behind it.

Im a huge Rock Lee fangirl and Lee's nickname (Gejimaru) [i think that's how it's spelt] roughly translates to bushy brows or bushy eyebrows.

Mine's is just my own nickname, Kai. nothing special about it but I really like the name ^__^

I went under it on my youtube channel... and when I started cosplay, I had a deviantart account fledge in it already. So, stuck with it. Went to change it for anything con related, but then I felt it was upsetting to say I kept this name now since 2006. XD

Well the first part of my username "Metty" is a nickname that comes from another internet name I use: Metatron, or ArchangelMetatron, on deviantART.
My friends all came up with this nickname, and I love being called Metty more than my real name! It means so much to me. <3
And the "Panda" part is just cuz I absolutely adore pandas.

As for that Metatron, or ArchangelMetatron, business, it's quite obvious: I love angelology, and demonology, and my favourite Angel is Metatron.

When I first started school my friend was trying to think of nicknames for us, but it had to be a food beginning with the first letter of your name, and because my name begins with Ryanna, she named me rice, So I decided to take rice and put it with the anna part of my name, so I got Riceanna, and I ended up putting Uchiha on the end because I mainly cosplay as Sasuke Uchiha, and thats how I got RICEannaUchiha

ahhh some of you have some really funny stories on how you got your names. Mines not that interesting.

Lulu: Lulu was the first character I ever cosplayed and was also by far my favourite Final Fantasy character.

Rose: It's my middle name and it actually means alot to me. Apparently I wasn't going to have a middle name, but my dad came to the hospital after doing some work after I was born with a bunch of Roses. Apparently, thats why, so it's somewhat out of respect for my middle name and where it came from.

I thought the 2 went together well so I have been known as Lulu Rose in the cosplay community since 2004 now.

I wanted a name that said something about me.. I love crossplaying but I will also be doing male cosplays ..at some point ..honest ^_^

So Ranma sprang to mind cuz in the anime he is a guy most of the time and magically changes into a girl (whenever he gets wet!). I relate to this guy becomes girl idea cuz it feels similar to my own experience when I cosplay.

The anime title is Ranma 1/2 but some forums dont like use of the / slash symbol in names so I changed it to Ranma 1-2 for mine.

Aww everybody has such cute stories behind there names mine isn't really anything special... but here goes anyway; when thinking about a name I could use for cosplay I stumbled across a list of words in Japanese for feeling, emotions and words to describe people I knew already Ai was love and then I looked down the list and found Airashii which means lovable something that people have always said I am( for a reason I haven't yet worked out) and so my cosplay name was born... but not many people use it

But i do have a method for choosing them.

At the time of registering, whatever character is on either my TV or my computer screen becomes my username.



The only name i really settle on now is Tiggs (my boyfriends nickname for me) and i've kind of adopted it as my permanent name on all new sign ups, ending a 10 year tradition of naming XD

Sasashie came about 3 years ago when me and my cousin Sarah and her freind fiee (Fiona) were playing the quiz machine for 4 hours @ our local pub 0.0
well every time we got on the leaderboard we tryed to think of a way to put all our names on the board and we came up with

Sas -Sarah
Ash - Ashleigh
and ie for fiee

and for a good 6 months that was all the leaderboards said it was so funny as no1 could beat our scores or knew it was us that did it x

For some reason I tried combining the names Shiva and Ifrit together. Somehow in my little head I came up with Eiva and decided I really liked it :V
...aaand the sorceress part came from being a pretty annoying mary-sue/self-insert which lasted for a long time. Eiva was the character I ~always~ used 8D

Can't think of any other name I'd have if I changed it now, though, I don't really tend to stick to particular characters unless I'm with friends (and even that changes so much. One day I'll be Riku, or Lucius, or idk, Beatrice, or something else... too confusing to keep up with!)

i love the meaning behind the word have Faith, in yourself in your family and in you friends. Faith is the one thing that shows you are an open and loyal and have a trust that is not based in proof, just a knowing deep inside

Well Neko is usually in all of my online ID's in some way. As I do have quite a few cat like tendancies. Mainly my love of warm places and sleep 83

But for this ID on Cosplay Island tis actually linked to a nick name I didn't actually want to begin with but has kinda such.

I have strawberry blonde hair and me sis always teased me when we were younger calling me Goldie Locks. Only she called me it until recently when me lover picked it up and Goldie became my unescapable nick name.

I play online games alot so always wanted a good alias that would be both unique and personal to myself.
I used to go by terence112...which is pretty boring to say the least.
Then one day I made up NetCeer, Netceer or Net-Ceer (even I don't know how it should be written xD)
But it's an anagram of my first name, Terence, and also because since primary school, everyone calls me TC, neTCeer.
Anyhow its the name I used for everything online nowdays ^^.

My Alias is TheManOfManyFaces Because..... Every comment i got on deviantart/facebook/mates, apparently i dont look ANYTHING like myself in ANY of my pictures, so, i decided that, i was a man, of many faces ;D x

I write fanfics. Was writing a HarryPotter fic and this name was the OC Slytherin girl in it. Liked the name so much, I kept it for my own

Mine's pretty easy to figure out, but it's miles better than my old name which is still my DA name (narutardxbleach) -_-;
My current name is a combination of my name shortened and Edward Elric because at the time I was really into FMA and thought the two didn't sound too bad together

I honestly couldn't remember XD I think it was something to do with Bayonetta somehow hehe. I remember the way she jumps, you get the image of a purple butterfly, and I loved that. I needed a new name anyway. So I've stuck with Butterfly-Goddess for a while now ^^
