Title says it all.
I guess I'm biased as it was the first Gundam I saw. But I've watched a quite a few Gundam series now, and I'm unsure why the hard core fans don't like it?
I can understand why SEED is disliked...but either way, can someone enlighten me?

Unfortuntely this gives it quite a different flavour to the others, which didn't go down so well with the traditional fans.
Or so I've heard. I've only seen Wing and G-gundam. |

Also, how can they not like Treize Khushrenada? He is one of the most awesome Gundam character ever, he even beats Ramba Rol and his 'This is no Zaku boy, no Zaku!' quote. |

I also don't like a lot of the Gundams in the series as they're overcomplicated for that 'oooooh pretty' factor. Heavyarms <3 though. However, I'm incredibly easy to please. Throw in a few explosions and some big guns and I'm amused to no end. I also really like most of the characters (*coughQuatrecough*, Trowa and Lady Une, rabuuuu) |

So they have a huuuuuuuge space battle to try and not only disgust the populace, but to destroy a good number of the weapons used in war.
It probably would have made a bit more sense if the main writer hadn't left half way through. Endless Waltz sort of ties up some of the loose ends, and the Episode Zero manga gives more of a background as well. Plus, you know, huuuuuge space battle yo. And Treize in Tallgeese 2. Genius. |

Seriously though, I love it. The art is fantastic, the characters are lovable (except Relena) and the fighting is too cool! Plus the nicest Gundam designs... Sorry guys I love Wing Zero... Any Gundam that can make Quatre go nuts is QUALITY! xD Only bad thing about it is I wish I could cosplay them more! |

gundam wing was the first gundam i saw and it put me off all gundam for about 4 years till i watched gundam seed (which i fell in love with), i think the reason people dont like gundam seed is because its just a re-telling of the 1979 gundam pritty much spot on. i loved G-Gundam though very funny. |

And I can see a lot of fans who are really into the mech battles being slightly put off by the fact the series is somewhat...shallow? It seemed to me like it was a very 'accessible' series if ya get what I mean. And of course with glorious yaoifest overtones. |
