Katie Blair Wig Ordering
Anyone used Katie Blair's website for wig ordering? I wanted to get this wig (http://www.amphigory.com/wigs_s_perfect.html) for Kunzite (Sailor Moon) but Amphigory doesn't ship internationally. It was available on Cosworx but seems to have vanished from their site...

So I was going to order it from Katie Blair but I just wanted to know if anyone else has used this site? Found it a good service or bad?

Or if someone has a better alternative for a white wig that would be fine...should point out it needs to be a wig for a bigger head (which is why this wig would be perfect >.<. It's not for me but my partner.

I've ordered from her 4 times so far. The first never arrived and I have no idea what ever happened to it aside from it being shipped 2 months after ordering it, the second came perfectly fine after another 2-3 months, the 3rd still hasn't been shipped because Amphigory messed up and she only just noticed it so it's now about 5 months late and still hasn't been shipped, the fourth is no where near ready to be shipped if the others are anything to go by as it's only been 6 weeks.

I probably won't ever order from her or amphigory again unless I'm really desperate, the fact that she's now no longer accepting paypal and now wants just money orders or cheques only makes waiting times longer and payment extremely unsafe.

Concering Cosworx, I've noticed a considerable cut in their stock. I've not yet had chance but it'd be a good idea to contact them and see what they say. It's not a good sign that they've removed so many but it could be because of the restocking problems they're having right now. I know a lot of their wigs are currently out of stock until April/May time.

If you are going to order through her then make sure you give yourself about 4 months gap from when you want it. I know she's been having a lot of personal problems but even before then she was taking about 2 months and amphigory can be fairly unreliable for stock so be prepared for a wait. ><

Hmmmm, that's what I thought. I didn't like the idea of not using Paypal to be honest...

I've contacted cosworx about a different wig so maybe it's just a waiting game? Otherwise I'll have to find a different wig for Dom!

I ordered my Grimmjow pantera with from her, and it took about 2 months at least to get it in time. I'm glad I ordered it way in advance but hell, it was nearly late for JCC and MCM in october D:

She basically orders them from the other site so if they're slow shipping them or are out of stock, it severely affects how long it takes them to get to you. Granted, she was nice and answered all my emails when I was asking what was going on which is way more than i've got from other sites such as Milanoo, which sucks by the way, never use them.

I'd highly reccommend to use some of the ebay shops over cosworx and katie bairs mainly because I've found them significantly cheaper for a similar quality.

those 3 are my first ports of call when I'm looking for wigs hope that's helped!! ^^

I would second cosplay DNA, got a couple of their long heat resistant ones recently and they are really thick and the fibres just feel so gorgeous- almost didn't want to style the one for Terra

Also the last "cosworx own" wig we got was really dissapointing- seemed very thin, it was a good job we were putting a weft in! Makes me wonder whats happened because I know someone else said they were dissapointed in the one that they'd got

I also ordered a wig from Katie's website a while ago and it arrived roughly two months after and in black, rather than the blonde i'd requested. I emailed but recieved no reply or explanation, whereas some people have had great bussiness with her. Perhaps it is hit and miss? >.<

From what everyone has said i'd advice against that particular seller >.< problems with shipping alone would be enough reason for me (I get paranoid about getting things on time lol) but if shes not even accepting paypal anymore and its an international order I personally wouldn't risk it >.<

COSPLAYWIG on ebay are really good ^^
http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/COSPLAY-WIG

Iv'e had 3 wigs from them so far (am planning on getting my next from them also ^^) and my friend recently got her yoko wig from them. They are great quality and reasonable prices I think, they do character wigs as well so you may find one already styled ^^
Plus they have recently started selling 'heat-resistant' wigs as well XD But I would say regardless of where you decide to go, i'd always get something like wigs in advance as thier more than likely be comming from a different country. I only use their delivery times as a general guideline~

Hope you find what your looking for ^^

All great suggestions ^_^ (I've used cosplaywig a few times) but problem is I'm buying this wig for my partner who has a larger than average head (no big-head jokes please, we've been there and done that already XD) and my concerns are that any wigs I buy won't fit him...

We've tried out some of mine and none of them do but this wig from Amphigory would be perfect...

If you don't mind paying the extra the other option for larger heads is cyperous. They are very pricey however so it depends on how much you want to spend.
The other option is to alter a regular wig but this really depends on how much bigger Dom's head is as it's really only for slight alteration unless you want to start adding in extra wefts. ><

Decided to get a Willow wig from Cosworx and hope we can adjust it!

Thanks for all the help guys! ^_^
