(ok I've moved it from another topic..>.<

Help with this cosplay/sewing mishap?

I bought a Code Geass School boy uniform and unfortunately..the collar is waaay to wide =_=

I can fix it myself if I can only figure out HOW? I don't want to ruin the outfit..but the way it is now just isn't right~

Wide as in? The collar sticks out too wide? It's too wide round the neck? So many possibilites with wide. As riku said a picture might help or more definition.

If the collar is stick out too wide. You can either pencil on another line and cut off the excess and hem it. Or could just tuck it under and sewn it back unders itself like a big hem

If it's too wide round the neck then you can alter it but until i know what the issue is then kinda stuck ^^

Matt

I think Matt got it though..it's just generally very wide around the neck and very uncomfortable ..(not to mention, looks very wrong O_o)

I'll try to get a few photos up ASap Thanks so much for replying guys ^__^

It's ok just a few images i'm sure we can help you As it's quite a tall collar it might be really simple get a few pictures of the collar, closeup, on you or a manakin. Then your all set.

Ah well..I already fixed the tall collar problem (very painfuly) and it's just the wideness of it that's the problem...

here's what I've attempted

Sewing from the inside to make the collar a better fit~ but..it ends up looking like this from the outside

And even fixing the high collar problem compromised the design T_T

i see. Would of been better to sew that fold down to one side. or trim it. Was it really that big you had to take in that much? wow.. thats not cool but nice attempt glad you got it sorted and anyway the hair or wig will cover the seam

Matt

glad that you sorted it out yourself! i agree with venom - wig will cover the 'painful work' you did.

lol yeah, it was that big,and I can tell you I'm not buying from the same store again >.> I can still sew the fold down to one side..I don't have a sewing machine so all that was done by hand and can be easily fixed again..although trimming sounds better so I don't have that excess material showing...the wig I have isn't that long XD

lol thanks XD I will actually see what it looks like with the wig on, but the way it is now, I think it might need to be trimmed even for comfort reasons
