Gundam Kits?
I kinda wanted to get a thread started for the fans or possible fans of the Ban-Dai or Sunrise Gundam mobile suit or indeed any mech model kits?

Anyone avid builders or modelers in general?

i like to build models in my spare time, though im always looking for master grade or high grade though i still get confused which one is the better anyway i have an infinite justice sitting on top of my telly while i cant seem to find my strike (all weapons) though moving house makes rents careless on handling things ;______;

if i find my strike i think i'll put on a full weapons assault kit on him xDDDD (Sword + Launch + Aile = Full weapons awesomeness) [/geekynessrant]

Master grades tend to be better although I got an RX-78 High Grade which so far is far superior to any master Ive built, although Ive got a chistmas present coming in the form of gundam exia supreme edetion so im really looking forward to starting that, i also found a great tutorial site for this japanese guy who is my god XD

heres the guy, he is amazing if your just starting and if your intermediate

perfect grade strike was fun to build, but you really need the skygrasper addon to make it gleam.

the G-gundam master grades (mainly god and master) are all kinds of awesome because of their skeleton which lets you pose them any way from their arms folded to doing a high kick.

my 3 all time favorites that i have are the MG hyaku shiki because it's gold plating looks awesome, the MG white ogre zaku II because it's a zaku and i love their ugly butts, and the MG ver. ka wing gundam because it's so darn detailed.

i'd really recomend not buying HGs since the detail and part count is low compared to MG and PG, i only tend to buy HG if a particular suit only comes in HG. (i only actually own 1 HG, deathscythe hell)

Hg's are very cheap and great builds for begginers and adepts. It really all depends on the paint job your willing to give it, a good hg kit should take you a few days really ^.^ although If I have the money I try and splash out on the more expensive custom's or masters ^^ not often though ^.^ roll on gundam nation at kitacon 09!

ankles in the MG strikes are terrible ;x you have to pack them out with tissue so they give the model support. really nice detail though...

there's only two i really want right now, the sinanju and the sazabi. the saz has been out of production for ages though, but that usually means it's due for a reissue.

I have a endless waltz gundam wing zero model that is still sitting in the box not made.

Had it for about four or five years. I really should make it.
I have made a sandrock and Deathscythe hell but then sold them on.

I love making Gundam kits although I only have a few.

@ryukredapples: I loved making the Lukas Strike E with IWSP kit! Its a really fun kit to own and I highly recommend it.

I'm still getting used to using my airbrush but when I'vee got it down I am going to practice spraying on my next kit the Duel Gundam and then I can do my ultimate project; The Dendrobium!

When I was out in Japan saw the Limited addition Unicorn Pearl and Sazabi Metalic MG kits... they were gorgeous!

If you ever get out there check the "Yodobashi Camera" shop in Ueno, top floor... you'll be in heaven!

I'm wishing for all of the Shuffle Alliance (new) gundams in MG. Seen Shadow though that looks nice. Not a huge fan of wing but would like to see those gundams in MG, they only have Wing Zero as far as I can tell...

I'd also love a 1/100 scale YF-19 from Macross Plus, anyone ever seen one of these?

@Captain: That Dendrobium kit is totally amazing... watch out it may accidently fall into my bag... a really big bag!

I have a 1/100 Dynames from Gundam 00 and am now building 1/100 Kyrios from the same series. I'm a total n00b at this and just bought them because I like the series, but they're fun to build! I do get rather enchanted when all the little plastic bits snap together and suddenly you have the cockpit of Kyrios in its plane form, and then you can just flip it around to turn it into the mecha form. It just amazes me how they can design them so that they actually WORK. The Japanese, they never cease to amaze me.
