Got the back armor done in fom, just gotta get the peices together to make the headband a third time. This time I'm going to use wire like I originally planned, but I gotta get some first.

If I'm really risking it, I might have a go at making the shoulder pad more like his one on Dissidia, but I'm no good at forming a round shapes... here goes!

Good luck with that.

For my pauldrons I'll be doing what I have been doing for all my pauldrons which is to get hold of baseball helmets (or something similar). I then cut the shape I want from them. All the other armour pieces will be made out of foamlux PVC (Cintra).

Been away from ages here! But I should still be doing Shantotto, not started much at the minute beside the wig but if I bet the chance to work and finish it I will do!

The more I look at her costume the more I despair, though T_T every reference is different and there are hardly any to begin with.. gonna take a lot to get her accurate lol

ok so had a major (i say major it was for me considering work etc) sesh with kuja and have near enough all the fabric i need for his garments and i'm off to get boot fabric next month. other then that i have had a cracking time gradient dying the interior of the butt-skirt on the washing line what with all this hot weather!

Thought i'd drop a status update in just for fun!

sorry guys but i'm dropping out as ultimecia, due to some time and money stuff i've decided to just really focus on one cosplay for amecon and so I'm dropping pretty much all the groups I had planned!

looking forward to seeing you all though and hopefully i'll get some shots of you all :3

awww thats a real shame =[ hopefully see you at amecon ^^, my terra is coming underway quiet nicely (luckily) the base dress and armwarmers are finished, and got all the fabric and dye needed for the cape.

Hmm.. I may still be in this group or not - it just depends on this job I'm after: although the pay will be good as it's night-time, it's only as and when I'm wanted so not sure of hours (don't really want to dissapoint the Heroes ).

I still want to try and get her done but I've got a ton of other costumes which have all been quite expensive and I've only got the wigs for Shantotto sorted, so theres all the fabric, boots, ears etc to source and buy.

I'll try and get her done but with just over a month to go I'm going to have to be careful and see if I can fit her in sucks since I'd LOVE to be part of this group.

Don't worry to much about it if you can't manage it. It will be awesome if you can but we can get it if you can't. Be great to see you there even if your doing something else.

What is the bugdet you working with? If you want a good alternative thats v.cheap you can go with craft foam.

Or you can go with what I use for all my armour. Cintra/Foamex. The sheets themselves are cheap (I pay £10 for a large sheet 600mmX1200x4mm) but depending where you get it from the postage can be pricey. My usual suppiler charges £15 for postage. Which is next day delivery by courier. If you are interested then you can get it here

Then there's wonderflex. I think this can be quite expensive depending on where you can get it from. Most people here get it from Flints

There is also Plastarzote. I've persoanlly never used this so I'm not sure on the costings for this. Maybe ask around for this. I know Tab and Xae recommend it.

You are an absolute legend emma! Love you to bits! Did think about plastazote but the craft foam sounds gd. how'd i make it solid as opposed to you know...foamy? papier mache over it?

There are many ways you can do it. Papeir mache is one and probarly the cheapest. You can use a few layers of PVA glue as well. Or you can get hold of some stuff caled Gosso (I think). Its kinda like poylfiler which you can use to smoth over the foam once its taken its shape.

i'll try some of those out! if i use pva on the foam will i be able to paint over it very well? was thinking of using an acrylic paint frm like the wrks? sorry to bug you about this hun!

Yeap you can paint over it. Probarly worth doing a base layer of pva first then doing the paint colours you want. Then a top coat of pva (kind of like nail varish XD). I recommend a 1:1 of water to pva mix as it will take less time to dry and will be very smooth. I do this mix to seal all my craft foam.

Its no prob at all. We vilians need to help each other look awesome.
