I had a guy on myspace take all my Vaan photos and pretend he was me too. It's a horrible feeling, most people told me to feel complimented but I was pretty damn furious.

I never really noticed this topic, but people who claim other peoples costumes as their own are usually people who are jealous and with no talent. There is hardly any point in stealing someone else's photo because you will get caught.

I've never been able to find out who it was, but apparently someone stole a pic of my Shinobu costume once, claimed it for their own, and misidentified the character as Rei (from Evangelion, I presume...).

The kicker? My Shinobu costume is possibly the worst costume I've ever made. How bad? Legendarily Epic Fail. I only found out someone had nicked it cos one of my friends told me it had shown up, complete with the misidentification, on a cosplay snark site.

I honestly don't understand people sometimes.

I don't know who it was that stole the photo and claimed it for their own, although I would like to know, just so I can go laugh at them.

As for the snark site, it's now defunct (they operated on Livejournal and got shut down cos of a T&Cs violation). Even if it wasn't, though, I actually posted on it myself saying "yeah, that actually does deserve to be here" ^_^
