Looks like getting cash together is causing people a lot of problems...can really see why, just checked and the rooms at some places in town over that weekend are around £120.

Personally as someone who got a late ticket from being on the wait list I'm opting for The Travelodge on the edge of town at £42 per night and driving up.

Ohh by the way if anyone's at the same hotel but struggling to get there/back lemmie know and I'll give you a lift

Less than 2 months to go. I'm getting the pre-con OCD now hahaha. I rang the park inn yesterday to make sure my room was still booked (since I booked it in October), went through my purse to make sure I still have my friends and my own train tickets safe, double checked all the materials and misc things i've bought recently for the cosplays i'm making, repeatedly checked my uni timetable to make sure i'm not missing anything important on the friday....aaaaaa +excited+

I wish i was staying in the park inn, but im only 5 minutes away luckily in the fish inn ^^.

Where abouts is the fish inn? I've not heard of that one.
We're at the ibis this time. Annoyingly we left it too late to book at the park inn. thankfully its pretty much across the road from the hotel so we don't have long to walk but I'll still be getting changed once we're there.

It's on a road near by, i have never been there but on the kitacon forum a girl was telling everyone that she searched online and found it, so i looked it up to be safe and she was right it's on;ly roughly 5 minutes away, but it can't hold many people as it's more of an Inn, so people can come in and use it for just a resturant.

I think I'm in the Ibis too! (Almost sure but I wasn't the one who made the booking XD) Actually I'm quite happy to be close to but not in the "official" hotel... Park Inn is all taken by con goers and as things go, con goers can get very excited and loud well into the night - no offence meant, it's normal to be excited! But personally I'd rather be across the road where there should be less con goers and therefore I can hope to get some rest at night... unlike back in AyaCon09...

Changed my mind now for friday, im bringing my faithful aerith and her princess guard staff instead of kairi, but kairi is coming as i may bring her for saturday party or the friday party lol, but aerith is my favourite so i had to take her ^^.

Yay hotel buddies! Yeah the main advantage is no fire alarms (though we did make the first one go off)! Though after going last time I'm slightly worried about walking there and back in the evenings, definitely won't be in costume. The best thing is that although we miss out on having a pool we're right next to the cinema so we could all organise a trip to the movies for all the ibis people.

Absolutely lol! If we get everyone from the con going we could probably take over the place! Though organising what everyone wants to see would be hard lol. XD

Can't wait to see your Aerith! She's becoming less and less cosplayed now!

Still(!) waiting on my fabric to arrive for my final costume. Hopefully it'll come monday so I can finish costumes and wigs over the weekend and be completely free to work on it!

Yeah my husband isn't a huge horror fan either. X3 I think a comedy or something silly would be good as it's generally something everyone likes.

Lol thanks! Surprisingly all my wigs for Kita are fairly normal and my big cosplay project doesn't even have a wig!

I was in the Ibis at Fuyu last October. It's not too bad walking back there, it's better if you use the shortcut (walk across the grassy area in front of the park inn and come out onto the road by the cinema) because

1) Its quicker
2) You skip all the clubs, and since Kita is on a weekend they will be full of rowdy drunks

30 Jan 2010 - 10:3126401
Yeah the last thing we need is the drunks from clubs insulting us cause they think were dresed like "freaks".

We had that problem last time with the locals which is why I'm reluctant to wear costumes over there and back. >< The worst thing is that we weren't even in costume! They just hassled us cause my husband has long hair! I think I was shocked more than anything as its usually me who gets stared at.

Oh my seriously? How rude is that!

I know, we just pretty much stared at them in shock then walked away. They were pretty weedy so they couldn't have started anything really (3 of them, 4 of us) but it was still a bit surprising cause we never get anything like that down here. But yeah, as long as we travel in groups we shouldn't get much hassle even if we're in costume. Strength in numbers! X3

Yeah group of cosplayers ftw XD. I just can't understand why some people are so so rude o.0.
