Okay so... I never really made a costume before. I never bought one either. anyway my friends mom made me my last one but she got all mad and said she would never again ANYWAY.. I want to cosplay as Utena(movie version) and I was to buy the costume...or I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate on how difficult it would be to make. >> so yeah...thanks.

It's hard to say how difficult you'll find it, without knowing what you're experience is and even then, some people take to it like a duck to water, some people struggle to find their feet. And everyone has problems with different things.

From what I remember (only seen the movie once) it's a fitted black and white jacket and straight trousers? I've always found trousers harder that skirts, and there's quite a bit of work involved in a fitted jacket.

Basically, you've got two choices and either are fine if you want to make it.

a) Start off with something fairly simple and see how you get on, then decide if this is the costume you want to do next.

b) Decide to make a project of this one and go for it.

If b) I'd defintely recommend finding a suitable pattern. It will give you instructions and help make sure it fits etc. Whatever you do good luck and don't be afraid to ask for help
