On this note, does anyone have a good idea for me doing Bane without shaving my hair off? LOL

How to do a bald character whilst keeping your hair?

latex bold cap, and some really good makeup to blend it in with your head

I'm going to be slightly green anyway so the makeup's not an issue, but the baldcap doesn't cover enough of my hair...but then, I'll have a hooded cloak on :-\

AAARGGH! LOL

Ah Sean, the BIC razor just a step too far eh? ha ha ha ha

From what I've seen those latex bald caps cover quite a large area. The only problem is making it a different colour. I don't know yet how to go about painting latex..

I've used theatrical make up on latex prosthetics before, not the kid's face paints though!

Yes, using a bald cap can cover ALOT of hair. I have done on on someone who had really long hair. You then need to have a good base foudation to match the cap to your face. The rest of the make-up will be straight forward to blend. Bald caps are designed for ease of make-up. They do have a bit of stretch in them.

If you do have hair thats quite thick you might need to wet it or wax it down. That you can practise.

Practising is something I recommend as the smell of liquid latex is awfal. Even when i was doing regaular FX make-up work it still got me on occasion.

Quote Silver:

It's when the celebration is taking place on Endoor, after Luke has done a traditional Jedi ceremony for Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker. When he's looking out into the middle-distance and Obi-Wan and Yoda appear I like it up to this point. Then Anakin appears as Hayden. And as the camera pans out away from them, Obi-Wan and Yoda are looking in one direction, and Anakin is looking in a totally different direction.

It irritates me constantly! >___< I just sit there and seethe (sorry, but I didn't think Hayden Christiansen was very good casting for Anakin).

I hate that section as I grew up on the films and therefore used to the original actor playing that part. I felt that they didn't need to replace him. Whos to say that Hayden won't look like the original actor when hes older (sorry can't remember the actor's name off hand).

I do think that the original cuts of the movies are the best and will remain classics in my mind.

Sorry to go all fangeek!

@Sliver, looking forward to seeing your Jania. I think you'll look great.

Sebastian Shaw wasn't it? And oh! How I hate that he was removed in favour of Hayden Christiansen...NO!

I'm glad I have the DVD with both versions, and although I love the restoration on the remastered versions, I think that you can overwork something until you ruin it. I've done it with sculptures and Lucas should have been told "George, leave it!".

Oh yeah I saw this advertised on TV and was like "Where is the LG Arena?"
So I see it is actually the NEC. Why don't thet just say "At the NEC".

I'll see how my finances are looking in the new year. In principle I'd LOVE to go. The Star Wars film score music is just fab.

I dont know if this has already been posted but I have since tried this site and have already begun work on my Return of the jedi luke Replica. they are inexpensive and can all be got from one trip to b and q and in the opinion of this 20 year star wars fanatic they are quality

Just an edit, there is also the video tutorial from a great prop builder from indy mogul he makes everything from lightsabers to guns!

Most likely for this year I can put together a Darth Revan or Darth Kryat.

With any luck, my fiance will be over from the States in May next year at which point we will be able to bring our Darth Talon and (Dark Side) Cade Skywalker pairing to the Expo.

Ooh I'd love to be part of this! No idea which character though D: ideas~?

11 Aug 2010 - 23:2038570
Bump..

Just checking in to say..I'm still up for this on Sunday October Expo. And Ryoaki is too. Were going shopping for main fabric on fri. As planned we have a SW skit drafted to entertain everyone. Audio track is about half way edited and we're really excited.

I imagine some peoples cosplay plans will have changed since this thread started, but I hope there is still gonna be a huge SW group in Oct.

11 Aug 2010 - 23:5438573
I'm certainly still up for it as i'm sure you know!! SO EXCITED!!!!

Lightsaber belt clips - as used on screen costumes, available
Yes I'm watching your progress Alyx.

Ok guys I found these available from eBy they are the genuine 'Covertec clips' used on screen costumes to hang lightsabers from belts (jedi and sith!). They come with the button to attach to your lightsaber too. Then you can dangle your lightsaber from your belt properly. £8 I like the price too. ^_^

Check them out here

If the link fails (after auction ends - 28 day) just search eBy for 'Covertec clip'
