Pirates vs Ninjas group
We had an idea, to put together a meet at May Expo, and stage a huge Pirates vs Ninjas face off.
This was partly inspired by this series of videos (watch them all, it's worth it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_yBPNwAcsg

The idea we have though, doesn't just mean Naruto and One Piece cosplayers. We want people to come up with truly legendary Pirate and Ninja characters.

Just for some examples, we compiled a list of possible ideas from popular culture:
Ninjas
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
- The Hand
- GI: JOE
- Pucca
- Cats & Dogs
- Sin City

Pirates
- Pirates of the Caribbean
- Peter Pan
- Sinbad
- Treasure Island (and Treasure Planet)
- Princess Bride
- Captain Pugwash
- Stardust
- Spongebob Squarepants

And of course, any ideas from games and animes are very welcome. The more original the better, although generic Pirate and Ninja characters are just as useful.
Steampunk Airship Pirates also count (we know pirates are slightly less popular).
Any suggestions for things to do as part of the meet are welcome too, whether it's stage fighting or photo ideas.

Just to start things off, the Trioka are so far planning:
-Bossy as Miho from Sin City
-Mini as Pirate Ikuto from Shugo Chara

What do you guys think? Anyone want to join?

If I were going to the expo, I'd join purely because you mentioned Princess Bride. Dread Pirate Roberts ftw!

Good look with this =D It's good to see that you're trying to come up with a less common variation on such a common theme =)

carefull what you wish for
Hi I just picked up on this thread, do you have any idea how many pirate reenactors there are out there. The world of cosplay, reenactment, and live role play don't seem to cross very much, considering how much they have in common. Over the last few years pirate reenctment has become very popular, with a big pirate festival at Lulworth cove every July. There's a lot of us out there with all the kit already, and a nice posey event indoors ,not getting cold and wet has a lot of attraction.
I am fairly new to the cosplay scene, and a bit out of the loop regarding cons. but would like to go to more. Feedback please.

*bossy-otaku speaking*-I really have no idea what i'll be going as to thoughtbubble, but will almost definitely be going, and maybe will drag one other trioka member up with me. Meyhaps will shove a steampunk outfit out, but I really have none of my cosplaying supplies here with me.
